Where do you get snow boots your kids?

Since it snowed today (here in Colorado!) I am now thinking about snow boots for my son.  He's 3.5.  Do you get snow boots at Target, etc. or do you spend more (Columbia, etc.)?  We saw snow boots today at Target for $25.  Columbia on Zappos are $50.  Where do you get them for your kids?  He does play in the snow a lot, but not for hours, I'm just not sure what quality we need.  I didn't see much on eBay.  Maybe the consignment sales?  Thank you!

  • Does anyone do Keens for the snow?

  • I've never touched snow.

  • I don't like to spend a lot on snow boots just because it seems like it wouldn't really matter whether they were high quality or not.  Could be totally wrong on that one, but that's been my experience.  I just get them second-hand.  There's a few churches in our area that sell gently used kids' items as a school fundraiser so that's where I get them.
  • At consignment sales. I can't see buying something new a kid uses like 5 times.

  • I do Amazon, Land's End, JCP usually. Whatever happens to be whatever I want cheapest.
We live on a farm in the country though..kid spends hours a day in her snowboots, I'm willing to pay. :) A lot of the ones I run across at those stores are like $25.00 too and not as plastic-y as Target.
  • Bogs are great because they can be used as rain boots too. They are also easy to get on and off.
This.  I heard great things about these from other school Moms.  The Target/Wal-Mart ones fall apart by the end of our winter.  I just bought the girls boots today at a local farm store for $52 each (down from $75 retail).  They are cute purple daisy print and I hope they last more than 1 winter even if it is not the same kid.  The girls said they are super comfy.

The farm store is the way to go if you have one. I got Ellie really nice quality snow boots last year for cheaper than Target! (At Theisens)
