If this IUI cycle doesn't work I fully plan on getting shitty drunk and smoking a few cigarettes. The huge dent in our bank account from all of this is stressing me the hell out.
Good luck! I know how stressfull that is. Dh keeps bugging me to make an appt with our RE but I'm just not ready to go through all that stress again.

Baby Girl # 2 TTC Since June 2013 Got pregnant on our own without Fertility Treatments - January 2016! Thank you snow storm Jonas! EDD 10/15/16 At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid. Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth. If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP. My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!
I was parenting yesterday, if you can believe that.
I also got sucked into the UO on May 14. I feel stupider for having read all 20 pages of it.
My FFFC is I flat out refuse to jaywalk across a busy street. I'll walk an extra block or even two to get to a light before crossing against the light.
I have a cup in my bathroom to pee in for HCG tests. I rinse it out everytime I use it, but I haven't replaced it because I don't want to pee in all if our glass wear.
I'm 99.9% sure DF filled the cup with water yesterday and drank from it. He has zero clue that I've been testing.
Ha! That's hilarious. My husband has done that too. I would never tell him bc he would freak out. I'll just keep that one to myself.

I secretly think that j walkers that get hit by cars have it coming.
Me too and I usually side with the pedestrian. If you hit someone at a stop sign, then you can burn but I can't blame you for someone coming out of nowhere at night. H thinks I am the biggest pansy for this and complains that it takes so much longer to get anywhere.
I got sucked into that UO thread too @Baker_Bride.
My confession is that I totally pretended that DS needed a nap yesterday so I could put him in his crib and have sex with DH. He played happily for a half hour, it worked out fine. DH is on night cycle for work, so between me getting home from work and him going in, we only have about 45 minutes together each day.
I peed in the cup that LO plays in the tub with the other night, BFN, which I was expecting. SO has no idea he just kept asking if I had seen it . . . umm no I threw it away but he is none the wiser and I was tired of having water poured on me anyway.
@Ginabina11 Best wishes with your IUI. When is your beta and are you going to POAS before?
Pee is completely antiseptic and while thought of drinking it is disgusting, it will not make someone ill.
I don't understand why it's important to 'train' a little girl to keep hair ornaments on her head or to trick or distract her to put it on. There is no reason for it except aesthetics and if she keeps taking it off she is sending a message.
Another FFFC, maybe a UO is that I can't stand typically boy names on girls. Underneath the 'we just like it' is the message that male names are better than female ones. If someone would've name their son Sarah why wod they name their daughter Evan or Cameron.

@MoFree The bows are not just aesthetic, it's to keep her hair out of her eyes while she's playing. When she takes it out, the message I'm getting from her is "I would really like to chew on this."

I think for some little girl's hair it's hard to know what to do when it's all growing forward into their eyes. If you cut it, their bangs will start way too far back and that growing out process is really hard unless you want Farrah Faucet hair. It's the solution to the growing out phase.
And I agree about names but I don't mind truly accepted unisex names.

I encounter kids at the park daily who make me wonder if this unconditional love thing would be a fierce as it is with Howell had I been given one of them. Like the kid who kicked my kid in the face for standing next to the ladder he was climbing? Yeah, so glad he isn't mine.
And I was yelled at twice yesterday for the behavior of kids who were walking to the park the same time as us. I explained they weren't mine and secretly thanked my lucky stars.
I think those who chose to breastfeed and then proceed to feed their children crap once they are weaned are total hypocrites. I have an coworker whose daughter is just a week older than Kate, and she breastfed and went on and on about the health benefits of it, mostly (I suspect) because I unapologetically didn't breastfeed, and she now routinely feeds her kid McDonald's, Oreos, and other fatty, processed foods. She never cooks a meal, it's all pre-packaged or fast food.
Some people think that I'm lying about being a virgin because I use super-jumbo tampons, but I can't help it if I've got a heavy flow and a wide-set vagina.

Agreed. Also hypocritical are people who research car seats, strollers, cribs, et cetera ad nauseum and feed their children processed, GMO laden chemical food.

We're all hypocrites in our own ways.
Maybe, but some people are way too judgmental and then end up making themselves look foolish for it.
You would all cringe at my kid! She wears bows and her name is Charlie!
My FFFC is that Charlie gets a little bit of cupcake almost every day. I work in a cupcake shop and bring one to give to someone every day, but give her a little bit of icing first.
oooookay then @becc77. My fffc: Emery has been on a diet consisting of mainly cheese puffs and breast milk for the last two days. I have a sleeve full of excuses. Doesn't everyone? I have to choose my battles. I have LOTS to choose from.
Also, @mofree, I'm feeling exasperated at you constantly bringing up processed non gmo foods. Many of us, myself included cannot afford to shop at the heath food store. I do my best. I buy free range eggs, antibiotic free/grass fed beef and chicken and go to the farmers market often. But MY GOD. I do the vast majority of my grocery shopping at Aldi. We freaking struggle from pay check to pay check. I can buy two weeks worth of grocerys for our family of 5 for around $130 at Aldi. It would cost me triple that at the health food store.
Please stop rubbing it in my face that we can't afford better foods for our kids.

I don't think Mo brought that up. I did, and she agreed with me. You seem awfully defensive. Perhaps you're a judgey breastfeeder? Anyway, I didn't target you intentionally, unless you are, of course, a judgey breastfeeder who is now feeding her kids crap. And not being able to afford expensive groceries is no excuse. I shop at Aldi too. They have fresh produce and meat. You don't have to buy prepackaged everything.

Actually, mo did bring it up. I'm talking about GMO/processed foods. Not fresh produce. I make most of my meals from scratch (fresh fruits, veggies, meats and grains) and I cook full meals almost every night. I don't, however, buy certified organic, gmo free foods. That's where I get the guilt trip from MoFree. We also have junk food in our house from time to time, eg: cheese puffs.
Also, I'd be surprised if anyone who knew me, either here or irl described me as a judgy breastfeeder. I think you are the one who is coming across as judgy here my dear.
Our family eats pretty healthy and I try hard not to make processed food but LO had pretty much french fries for lunch yesterday. We were eating at a place I go daily and I wasn't about to have her screaming throughout all of lunch becuase I wouldn't give her the french fries!
BTW - she looooooved them. I did draw the line when SO tried to give her ketchup . . . my LO is going to be deprived

Okay, agree to disagree. Have a good weekend all, I'm off now.
I have a REALLY hard time reading posts of people who can't spell or who intentionally use "text speak." Maybe I'm wrong that I had the assumption that we have all attended some sort of school. It just makes you look uneducated.
@gollywollypog I apologize if sonething I expressed hit a raw nerve with you. From everything you have written you have absolutely nothing to feel guilty about your parenting. I was referring to people who out no thought into the foods that go into their children's bodies and that certainly does not apply to you.
As far as GMOs, there is an iPhone app Shop No GMO which lists companies selling GMO-free foods, not all of which are super expensive.

I breastfed. I try my darnedest to feed my kid healthy stuff, and attempt organic as much as possible/can afford. But I do not blink an eye if he eats a few chips or cookies. Or French fries.
::yawn:: Are we talking about breastfeeding again? Really?
@Becc77 if someone feeds her LO formula, is it then expected that said person is going to feed her child MacDonald's and junk food? Is that the assumption you want people to hold for you as a mother who unapologetically fed her child formula? How is that any different from assuming a nursing mother spends every single second of her life thinking about each and every precious calorie her child consumes? It's not either or. I chose to nurse because it's healthy and was what worked for us but honestly? I am too lazy to have to wash bottles and remember to buy formula. I didn't do baby food either because it was much better for our budget to have him just eat what we ate. FF moms are always harping about militant breastfeeders and I agree it's the wrong message. Well, so are militant ffers. You fed your child. Good for you. I fed my child as well. Good for me. We do what we gotta do and I can't possibly care less what you do as long as you aren't causing bonafide harm. I am not going to apologize for what goes in my child's mouth to anyone. He's healthy, thriving and beyond that, it's no one's business but mine and his father's.

We're going to dinner where he will have sweet potato fries and mac and cheese. I hazard a guess that it's organic cheese given the place but I am not going to sweat it if not.
@mofree, thank you. I will look into that app, but I don't have an iphone. I'll see if I can find something similar.
I do feel guilty at times because I so much want to feed my kids the best I can. But the best I can is not good enough. Mommy guilt. So I guess these posts do hit a nerve with me because I KNOW what I want to do (the best food available), I CAN'T do it (finances), and then I know other people are judging me for it (and for the junk food we eat sometimes). I do thank you for clearing it up, @mofree, the people you are specifically talking about and I appreciate you making that more clear to me.
