Are we up for it this week?

I'll start us slowly... I think centipedes are the grossest bugs ever. Infinitely worse than spiders, roaches, etc. Number of legs definitely correlates to grossness IMHO.

I honestly do not like it when people have the power to vote and do not do it. When something major is going on, nobody cares to educate themselves about it. I know a lot of people have other stuff to do that affects them more... but I cannot help shake the fact that there are way too many people out there that do not care what goes on in terms of Government or social issues.

Your vote counts. Everyone's vote counts. I know it seems like it isn't much but it is...it is those people who do not vote who are doing everyone else an injustice. I think as adults it is our responsibility to do it.

I understand why you feel like there is nothing you can do. I feel like that all the time with this.. But you are doing what you can right now to try and fix it by voting. That is all I am saying in my PP. Sooner or later there will be a change because the tension with all of this mess is getting higher and higher.

I agree but I think most people who do vote are the educated and middle to upper class. They actually understand and have the resources to educate themselves. Those with lower education sometimes, not always, understand less and don't have the time or resources to educate themselves. I feel like we need more education for all as far as our government goes.

I also hate when people vote for someone without even knowing what the candidate stands for. Just voting for a face or voting just to say they voted but knowing almost nothing about who they voted for other than their name and party.

That is what I am talking about. My family voted for Obama because he was black. Most of the people in the ghetto where my family lives voted for Obama because of the same reason. Go to them now and they compare him to Bush.

I already elluded to this in another post, but I'll repeat (and probably get flamed).....

Accidental pregnancies only happen when birth control fails. If you aren't protecting when you have sex then you need to understand there is a chance you will get pregnant (even if miniscule) and not act so surprised if it happens. Birds and bees basics.

And to clarify - @anniejar, this is not directed at you - just a life lesson in general.

I completely agree -- to take it a step further, there was a time when women didn't have the right to vote, so I feel like to turn down the opportunity now is a slap in the face to anybody who bravely championed for that cause. Same thing can be said for minorities - blacks didn't use to have the right to vote either -- and now you do.

Also, if you don't vote YOU DON'T GET TO COMPLAIN.

Sorry, had to. Would totally be adding a pic but T is clingy. @JBDamonM That's all fine and well but when you tell someone how to feel about a huge, life-changing event, that is crossing a line. A healthy conception is actually not a really common or easy thing to achieve so why would it not be surprising whether it was planned or not?

I clean up after my dog if she goes to the bathroom outside of my yard. I also keep her on a leash if we are outside of our yard. Those seem to be rare things around here lately.

Write in or vote third-party. I actually voted for the libertarian candidate in the last presidential election, because I didn't really like either major party candidate. One year i wrote in my dad. :-) The point is that you're exercising your rights, which we didn't always have and we should not take for granted. Also, if we don't like a two party system, then EVERYBODY needs to start taking third party candidates seriously, and the only way to do that is to get people to actually vote for them, and stop with this "you're throwing away your vote" nonsense. that's how change starts.

Yup that was mine last week. Unfortunately I think Ellen had something to do with it. At least she has cut her theme music in half. She looked like an idiot bobbing and clapping the entire song on her first show.

Everyone on here understands how babies are made, but it can still be a surprise when they happen. We had fertility problems with my first so you bet I was surprised when I conceived without actively trying for #2. An unplanned pregnancy is by definition a surprise and a person should be entitled to express surprise when it happens.

Ok, gotta post and run for awhile, super busy today. Am I the only one who hated Minecraft? Maybe I'm just used to graphics with MMOs but that just felt like a few steps backwards to me.

It isn't like I spent 48 hours straight on it at once when I first got it.

I think it is more for the crafting idea than for graphics.. what you can build in an infinite world.. at least in the PC version. Also, you can get mods for it to make it look more realistic.. or like Adventure Time.. or like Pokemon lol

Sliverfish are horrible!
It really bugs me when people complain but didn't even take the time to vote.
I'm so overwhelmed by all the strong political opinions at work and by family I didn't even click the obamacare thread.

Bugs I can deal with, but stay out of my effing way if you're a gecko. Do not come into my house or you will be murdered in whatever way possible (once was windexed to death, once was spray starch). I hate them, so gross. Especially the clear-pinkish ones. Sick.

I hate hate hate hate hate hate!!! outside big roaches! well one time there was one in our bedroom and I chased that sucker all over the room crying with a broom and a plastic bag lol It was 3 am and I was pregnant and terrified of a roach! lol then I finally got it in the bag and open my front door and threw the bag outside!

@ClandestineX - Put a paper under the cup and put that spider outside! Poor thing. I used to be terrified of spiders until I started learning about them (love - https://www.whatsthatbug.com).

I actually think that jumping spiders are kinda cute. They're tiny, have two big eyes that look right at you and they jump around. If you search youtube, there are some pretty cute videos.

As for centipedes, I've seen one or two house centipedes around the house and they look awful, but I give them a pass because they're really shy nocturnal hunters that literally hunt down and kill roaches, bed bugs and silverfish. In my book, roaches and bed bugs can die awful deaths. Every last one of them.
