Miracle!

Back in August when I went for an early ultrasound, all that was there was an empty sac. I have been going in every 3 weeks for blood work because I wanted my body to do things naturally and when I started bleeding 3 weeks ago, I thought it was over. Every blood draw, the HcG numbers were going up instead of dropping...not elevating quickly, but elevating. I went in for an appointment on Monday and had another blood test and my OB told me that based on the rising HcG that the placenta was probably continuing to grow and if the numbers were up again, I would need an ultrasound and unfortunately schedule a D&C to get rid of the defective placenta. His nurse called me this morning and asked if I could be there by Noon for an ultrasound. I was fully expecting to see an empty uterus and walk out of that office with a scheduled D&C. Imagine the shock when she found one happy, wiggly, bouncing baby with a strong heartbeat in there!!!! And then my OB said I deserved every bit of good news today, and he heard the heartbeat with the doppler as well. I'm in shock, my OB is in even more shock, I have defied science and our sweet little miracle is due April 19, 2014.
