Feel Horrible

So I accidentally hit my babies head on our dresser last night trying to take him back to his bed. There is no mark but I feel like an awful mom. Pediatrician said he should be fine but I'm feeling really down on myself, any other moms have a similar scenario?

I was literally coming on to post an "I'm a horrible parent" post. :-S We woke up this morning to a massive raised rash under LO's armpit that's oozing yellow liquid. It doesn't seem to be hurting her but I immediately made an appt. Idk what it is or how it happened but I feel like the worst parent alive.

I hit my baby's head on the edge of the counter when I was getting her out of the pnp the other day. Not even sure how it happened, but I felt horrible! It was right on the edge too and left a little red line. I was trying to go too many things and too fast.

My LO is sick today and has been comfort feeding. I had him with his belly against my chest and he started rooting around while screaming crying. He ended up hitting his head on my front tooth. I cried so loud. I immediately started crying. It had even a rough day for us. Don't feel bad. Things happen.

You're not a bad mom. They're tougher than they look

I haven't had anything happen with my LO yet but my mother has stories I'll share just so you don't feel so bad. We all turned out fine (of course I'm going to say that lol)

I am the youngest of 4 girls and we are very spread apart. My sisters were 20, 11 and 6 when I was born. So needless to say she was very lax with me since I was the last baby.

I was 10 days old and my mom was cleaning the house. She tried to walk upstairs carrying me and the vacuum cleaner. Well, a few steps up and something was going to fall, what does she let go? Me! Held the vacuum and dropped the baby down the (carpeted) stairs. At 3 months old my sisters were playing with me in the bed of my dads pick up truck in the drive way. They set me up on the side and I fell out onto the concrete driveway. At 6 months old she set me in the window sill of a store in the mall so she could use her hands. Well, she left me there. Made it out of the store only to walk by and see me from the outside.

I made it 24 years so far lol
I know it's horrifying when you think you've hurt your baby but little scrapes and bumps will happen and it's ok.

I hit LO with my fingernail last night and it bled a little. He screamed, I cryed, 5 minutes later he was fine. I'm still upset about it.

I feel like today is "how hard can I make my baby cry?" day. I tried the K'Tan carrier and she screamed. After I BFed her, I put her in the stroller to go down to the mailbox and she screamed. I got back in the house to make her a bottle and she screamed because I was taking too long. She's fine now that she ate some more but sheesh.

I was picking up my cell phone yesterday and it slipped out of my hand and onto baby girls arm (only from a few inches up) laying next to me. She only cried for a minute, but I felt terrible!

LO thinks she's big and strong at 8 days and holds her head up briefly then it goes back down. Well I was holding her yesterday day and she did it then fell forward and banged her forehead on mine. Needless to say I bawled and she cried for approx a minute even though I spent 10-15 mins just sobbing. DH was like, ummmmm she's not crying anymore why are you still upset? I went, "I should've been more prepared for that and I am a bad mom for not being ready for that! He was like oh you're fine!! #-o

LO likes to lift her head up when she's against your chest. She started bouncing, and before I could stop her she smashed her nose and face into my collarbone. She was screaming, I was crying. She seems to have survived

Baby #3 for us and I have more of these stories then I care to remember! Just this morning I was dropping DS1 off at school and hit DS2 in the head with DS3's car seat. Luckily he didn't even care, but of course it was infront of all the other parents

@mrskeyte9 my pediatrician found this in D's armpits at only 2 weeks old:( its from sneaky formula or bm that can drip without seeing it! Doesn't make you a bad momma

The other night I was nursing LO around 3:00 am and bumping on my phone. I must have fallen asleep for a second and my phone slipped out of my hands and hit DS right on his face. He didn't even seem to notice but I felt terrible and gave him lots of extra hugs and kisses.

I was trying to take a pic of my beautiful sleeping baby two days ago and I dropped my cell phone right on her face and head

She made the saddest little pouty face but never ended up crying since she was sleepy enough. I felt so bad. And then i tried taking a pic again... she had a big red mark on her head in the pics.

When dd1 was a baby, I was zipping her into a sleeper. She crunched her legs up and I zippered her tummy skin. It was so sad.

Our pedi said it looked like a yeast infection from a moist environment (sweat and breast milk). She said it happens when milk gets away from us sometimes. Lol. I still feel horrible. DD doesn't care though, haha.

When dd1 was four months old I fell off a curb and dropped her in the parking lot. Scariest and worst parenting experience ever but she was fine. Thankfully babies are very resilient.

I was clipping DD's fingernails and I pinched the skin on her pointer finger. Luckily DH was feeding her so she only screamed for a second before getting distracted by food, but I felt horrible!

We all make mistakes so don't be too hard on yourself. With DD I feel asleep nursing her in bed and she fell off of me onto the floor when she was a few weeks old. She didn't even respond to it and I was so tired I just jumped out of bed and picked her up and we went back to sleep shortly after. The other day I dropped my phone on DS's head while he was nursing. It was dark and I was trying to see if was actually awake or "sleep eating" and the phone slipped out of my hand. I felt bad but he didn't even flinch. Little ones are pretty resilient.

Last week, I had DD laying next to me on the couch. She was watching me and kicking happily and everything was good, until the remote that was sitting on the back of the couch slid down and hit her in the head. Luckily, it slid slowly, and she only let out a small cry, more of surprise than anything, I think. I cried much harder about it than she did. No bruises or anything, either.

There have also been several instances where she's been lifting her head and bumped it into my chin, collarbone, or teeth. She seems pretty resilient. They'll be ok

Wait until one of you accidentally let baby roll off the bed or couch. It was MH and we both sobbed. Lucas was fine though after some cuddles.
