I kid you not, my daughter has a boy in her class named Kermit. She was telling me how she kept having to ask Kermit to get off her chair. And not even thinking I asked her why she didn't just pick him up and put him back in his cage? (I thought it was a class pet!) After looking at her face I realized this was an actual child and I apologized and explained what I thought she was saying. Geeze, poor kid!
Re: The name Kermit
Oscar born October 2011
Miscarriage at 8 weeks (August 2013)
DD due September 1, 2014
I had an uncle Kermit. I think it's a nice enough name but I'm not sure it's ready for the same comeback as Oscar...although I'm not sure why.
Perhaps he was named after family.

When DH and I went out to eat the other night, the family sitting next to us had a Grover. I about died! So cute.

That made me laugh.
I know someone who's parents named him Kermit, because they had just moved to the states when he was born (English was not their first language) - yes, he was named after the muppet. His parents changed his name to Mike when he was about 6 months old, they had a better grasp on the language, and realized Kermit was not a common name here.
