@kvochka - thinking of you and ur little one! I am in the same area as u. Hudson valley is my hospital as well. West medical is the best and I'm sure they will take good care of u. My sis gave birth to her twins prematurely and they really were outstanding. Good luck!!
Glad you are settled in. Please keep us updated and I hope you are as comfortable as you can possibly get in a hospital. Feel free to share your experiences as I'm guessing you will be bored. Like, will you have to eat all hospital food? Are you allowed to wear your own things? Do they have you hooked up to anything? Free wifi?
I know questions like that are trivial, but if you get bored, I'd love to know! Im curious about these things...
Thanks for the update. I kept checking as often as I could to see how things were going. Glad he's still cookin' and you get to stay as potentially long as 10 weeks. Lots of time for baby boy to cook.
I, too, am totally interested in your stay. Will DH get to stay with you at all? Do you get to roam or is it complete bed rest? And I second the food inquiry, wondering if you get to eat take out.
Also, what all do you have to do for home to prepare for baby? Really, you can shop online all you want, and do nothing for home as long as you have a car seat and a few necessities. Just curious though since it'd be hard not being able to be home to do anything you wanted, though even when I was I didn't get anything ready for DD1. lol.
And do you have family in town that will visit and keep you from being completely bored?

@Kvochka - glad to hear the update and sending you more positive thoughts.
are the doctors suggesting a cerclage for the leaking fluid?
No, it was explained to me that cerclage is to "repair" or stitch a broken/partial cervix. My cervix looks completely in tact, I'm on tons of anti biotics at the moment in order to stop any bacteria/infection from traveling up to the baby.
I'm trying to stay away from googling (DH and I made a pact) Bc I'm just afraid of what I will find. I've been utilizing the doctors here to answer all my questions. Apparently the fluid that is leaking can be explained as the baby's bodily fluids. So it's not a lot each 2 hours or so I change the pad.

No I'm on complete bed rest. No walking in the hallways and looking at cute newborn babies which are located 5 steps from my room. I'm stuck in bed and only bathroom breaks. I still haven't been given clearance to take a shower.
So luckily the hospital is located in the middle between my family and DH, about 30/50 minutes drive respectively. Both were here tonight. DH can't stay after 9 pm, which I was super upset about. I was brave during the day but at night my thoughts are driving me mad. I have a ton of visitors, friends and family, lined up in the next few days but I imagine that it will slow down after this weekend.
I didn't prepare my nursery yet, we had just purchased a crib but didnt put it together. I'm not even worried about it. We will make due with whatever we have at the house and I imagine that even if LO is born at 34 weeks, he might not come home until a few weeks later I will get the necessities at that point or send my friends/fam out to scavenge from my baby registry. They are Super supportive. My DH has been super amazing and I can't say enough how much support he has provided.
Sorry for the rant, but it's midnight here and I can't sleep

Hospital food here is yummy. I super excited for breakfast as I ordered oatmeal (this is my healthy side coming out), waffles, eggs and bacon, cereal and fruit!!! The lady just kept telling I should order and so I kept saying yes to everything. The dinner was good, I was admitted late and didnt get to order, so my "leftovers" was a corn/bean salad with a turkey green salad wrap and it was yummy. DH and I devoured it in 2 minutes. I won't have to worry about starving but more like gaining 100 pounds. I can eat outside food as well.
I can wear my own clothes, once I can take a shower in a few days. I have free wifi and my tv costs $8 a day for basic (I think this differs with each hospital as my local hospital gave this for free).
I'm currently hooked up to an IV (should be taken off at 72 hours) and 2 dif antibiotics for 7 days. I'm also expecting my second steroid shot for the lungs at 5 am this morning. They keep checking my blood pressure, which is supper low 80/50 and they have me in these awful compression sleeves on my legs to prevent blood clots.

Glad you have a great support system. And sounds like you're keeping an optimistic attitude. So sorry you have to endure all of this, but it sounds like you're in good hands and handling everything well. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Take it easy and get settled in.
I'm on island time so I'm up to keep you company as long as you're awake . I'm glad family is close enough to visit and even more glad you and H made the no google pact! Happy thoughts! Are they giving you good updates on little guy?
So sorry that you have to be there for the next 10 weeks, but I'm glad that you'll be in the best place possible if something should happen before then. Continuing to send many thoughts and prayers your way!!

My SIL spent 9 weeks at the hospital on bed rest (starting contracting at 24 weeks and was dilated) so I spent a lot of time with her during this time. Her family was out of state but would try to visit every weekend. She spent that time ordering items for the nursery, catching up on tv shows and movies with Netflix and reading series of books she never had time to. It was hard for her but she was happy that her son was able to cook as long as possible.
I think a baby shower in your room would be cute! also it would brighten up the walls with all the cards and yummy cake for mom. prayers of healing for you

Great idea!
I also hope your blood pressure improves. I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts and pray.
I woke up at 3 am all wet, made a joke that I peed myself and changed clothes. Within seconds, my underwear was wet again and it wasn't urine. Have been in the hospital since 3 am. Doctor thinks my water broke, and I'm only 24 weeks. Sonogram results showed a closed cervix and a happy baby boy who actually showed us the finger (believe me when I say it has been the highlight of this entire ordeal). Waiting now to see what the doc recommends but I'm still leaking fluid. He did state that Westchester med hospital, which specializes in premies won't even take me unless I'm 25 weeks. This hospital is not equipped to care for our little guy should he come so early. That brought on a whole new slew of emotions and I'm hoping the baby measures big enough for 25 weeks?, maybe Westchester will take me in that case. Also got the first steroid shot for the lungs. Will keep you updated as I find out more. Please keep my little guy in your thoughts and prayers. He is a spunky little fighter! Trying to keep it together here.
My cervix looks good and Westchester, ny is taking me in! Im in hudson valley, so it was either that or a hospital 2 1/2 hours away in Lehigh, pA. Westchester has an excellent prenatal unit so I'm glad we are going there. My ob thinks there is a leak somewhere but the baby has enough fluid and cervix is in place at this point and so long as my condition doesn't deteriorate, they will just continue to keep me in the hospital and to let me cook him a little longer. Thank you do much everyone for your kind words, prayers and thoughts!
Ok so I'm all situated in the hospital and looks like ill be spending the next 10 weeks here. Hopefully baby will continue cooking while the amniotic fluid keeps leaking thank you everyone for reaching out and for your kind words. Your well wishes and prayers continue to give me strength.
I completely missed this! How scary! I'll be praying for you and your LO. Hopefully the leak seals or LO stays in their for a long while. Please KUP!

@kvochka, I hope you're settling in ok! A girl I work with developed a leak around 28 weeks or so, and was on hospital bed rest. They kept prepping her to give birth any day because they couldn't stop the leak. It ended up closing up on its own, and she eventually was induced around her EDD. Her daughter is a very healthy 3-year-old now. Just passing along hopeful stories so you have something positive to focus on at night (is there really no way they could make an exception for your DH??). I'll be sending lots of "keep baking" juju your way!

Great story. Thanks, if there is a chance, I will be thrilled!!! I was flatly told that the leak will not reseal itself although my cervix is closed. I had some fluid last night and late into the day today. There are hours that i dont have any leaks at all though. The docs are calling it a ruptured membrane, but they don't want to prod to find it in case it gets worse. We haven't seen any "holes" or ruptures" during the sonograms.
My condition is the same, but I guess no good is GREAT news for me!
Just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you and praying for you. I'm so glad you are in the best possible place to keep your little one safe and cooking. Can't imagine what you're going through and I think you sound so positive and brave. Keep us posted everyday XX
