breath holding spells

in November 2012 Moms
LO holds her breath when she is crying hard i.e. after bumping her head.  Sometimes she holds it for so long her lips turn blue and its the scariest thing to see.  I looked it up and it seems sort of common and theres really nothing you can do.  Any one else's LO do this?

    The turning blue is scary. But as long as you know there isn't anything obstructing LO's airway I wouldn't get too freaked out. Benjamin does that when he is reaaaallllyyy pissed. I always know to prepare for a loud scream after.

    this :) blowing in their face makes them suck air in so it should help. we did this when Z would have crying fits as a baby and it worked great.
