DIY/Handmade birthday gift for husband

My husband's birthday is next week and he has insisted that I don't buy him anything since we are saving to move in January.
That said, I still plan to make him a cake and have the kids make him a gift or two but I don't know what to make.
Any suggestions for cool inexpensive semi-kid friendly projects for guys?

    Those are super cute ideas. I may have Hayden do a painting/print to frame and then let the older boys choose something from hijoi's link.
