Everyone is talking appointments and ultrasounds, and I'm just curious if I'm the only one who sees a Doc that won't see me until 10 weeks and only does one ultrasound (the "gender" ultrasound around 20 weeks). I would love to have an ultrasound earlier like many of you, but it's just not standard here. Anyone else in this boat?
P.S. I'm only 5W2D so my EDD isn't until May 31st by my calculation.

Some practices have different schedules/rules and insurances cover different things.
Standard u/s appts at my OB are 8-10 weeks, 12 weeks and 20 weeks. I had a growth u/s at 36ish weeks for fear of small person/monster baby problems.
Lots of practices do things differently. My doc wanted to see me as soon as I called to say I was pregnant, so I saw him at 4 wks 2 days, then had a dating u/s and will see him tomorrow for my first regular appt. Next u/s will likely be the NT scan at, if memory serves me correctly, about 13 wks? Same procedures as when I had DS 3 years ago. I don't have a history of loss nor do I see a fertility specialist or high risk doctor. This is just the way my doctor does things, I've heard lots of different scenarios, I'm not sure why they differ so much.

This time I'm seeing a midwife. I go in around 8 weeks to see the NP of the overseeing OB. From what I've heard from other mommas she may or may not oblige me with an u/s if I ask for it (I will for my own sanity). Then nothing until the anatomy scan again.
Last time I had weekly u/s from 30 weeks on due to GD & it got old real quick.
