I've been hesitant to post all day because I don't want to jinx it, but I woke up with light cramps this morning that continued and got worse as the day went on.
I've been timing what I'm pretty certain are contractions since 2:30 and they've been anywhere from 7-11 minutes apart, getting stronger (3-4 on the pain scale) as time goes by and with walking and climbing stairs.
We packed our bags, installed the car seat, and I called my dr a few minutes ago-she said I can stay at home until they're 3-5 minutes apart, so we're probably going to go for another walk in a few minutes to try and get there! Fingers crossed my little girl decides today is her birthday! (I'm 39w5d for fellow mobile bumpies!)
UPDATE: sent home. The contractions stopped pretty much right when I got there, though I had a couple small ones on the monitor. They did say baby is at -1, so everything hurts more since she's so low. Now that I left the hospital, the contractions are back. They hurt like a bitch and I don't even want to go back if I do end up in labor because I'm nervous it will stop again. I was walking out of l&d and I kept having to stop walking because of how bad they were-2 nurses stopped to ask if I was okay and shook their heads when I told them I got sent home.
Thank you for all the good luck and we'll wishes...better luck next time, I guess
UPDATE #2:
At home my contractions started coming faster and MUCH closer together. They were 2-4 minutes apart for an hour and a half when I felt comfortable to call back. At around 11:30 I was told to go in, and the same nurse checked me-I was 4 1/2 to 5 cm!
We JUST finished all of our admitting procedures (holy shit is it extensive). I'm still contracting and even though I wanted to try for a natural birth I've taken some IV pain meds because fuck that noise, these contractions suck! Now we just settle in and wait for me to be ready to push! Thank you all for the well wishes, I can't believe my next post here will be as a September-October mommy!!!
