Im a little overweight to start off with and had done an amazing lifestyle change a few years ago that helped me keep weight off (including very little to no dairy and glutten, green smoothies and eating lots of fruits and veggies).
Now i feel that most of the weight gain and bloating is due to a wheat belly since that is the most comforting and satiating thing to eat these days. Whole wheat of course, but still wheat.
I had envisioned a gradual weight gain mostly in the 2nd and 3rd trimester with just a belly bulge, however that dream is slowly starting to dissappear! Waaaaaaaaa.

Last pregnancy I only "planned" on gaining 25 lbs. I lost 15 lbs in the first trimester and looked tiny and could fit into size 2 jeans. I didn't gain it all back until 20 weeks. Then from 20-41 weeks I gained 40 lbs it didn't look good on my small frame, even my neck and shoulders got "fat." PP I wore a size 10 for the first 6 months.
Just wanted to share my experience. Once you start feeling better, try to go back to your healthy lifestyle. I didn't, I was so happy to be able to eat whatever I wanted that I overindulged.
This holds true for PP weight loss. I was one of the women that held onto my weight while BFing. Others were dropping ALL of their pregnancy weight and then some, which made me so discouraged.

That being said, i was doing quite a bit of yoga and strength training before i was preggos and really want (need) to get back into it. Just have to start building the habit again...
In these pregnancy 9 pounds in 11 weeks .
My last appointment was at 11 weeks and I had lost 3 lbs. I'm 13w4d now and I'd bet I've lost one more or maybe maintained - I really just don't feel like eating must still. With DD, i think I gained 5 lbs in 1st Tri and really didnt gain a ton more until week 26 or so...then I packed on the pounds quickly. I gained 39 lbs total.
I really try not to worry about total gain and I only weigh myself at appointments - I also suffered from a bad eating disorder in high school and college and therefore don't keep a scale in the house either.
