Hi ladies
I was diagnosed with SPD today (long story short my pelvis isn't handling the pregnancy well and I'm in a lot of pain.) Im walking like a duck all hunched over 24/7. I only get relief when I lie down semi-reclined.
My OB called me with the U/S results today confirming SPD. He said many women with SPD go on to have normal vaginal deliveries. However it can cause complications and they don't recommended an epidural (which is what I wanted) because the best position for delivering with SPD is kneeling or squatting. He offered me a csection and said its my decision.
I picked csection because I don't want a vag birth without an epidural and as selfish as it is I want the baby out at 38 weeks to get relief from my day to day torture!
So my long winded question is: to the mommies who have had a csection, would you have made the same decision as me?
TIA! I appreciate your thoughts.

Re: Would you have made the same decision?
As for your decision, shit if I know. I and a CS after hours of pushing with little to no oprogress. but I also was doing it without meds. Looking back, j wouldn't have gone to the hospital as early, but I would have also gotten an epidural after the first hour or so of pushing (I pushed for a total of 4 before the CS).
How manybkids do you want, ultimately? That would weigh into my decision - I am personally not comfortable with the risks associated with 3+ CS. Would you be willing to try VBAC for any subsequent babies? Does SPD occur with every pg if you've had it previously? Just some more things to think about
Good luck, and hang in there!

Were you offered any other treatments for your SPD, beyond suffering and then having a CS? Because there are lots of ways to relieve the pain (I had it during second tri).
As PPs have said, choose a later c/s date if you can. Most OBs won't allow an elective c/s before 39 weeks and chance that your due date is wrong and end up delivering a premie with immature lungs. My c/s was forced at 37wks because of complications (plus the twins' position) and we were lucky...no NICU, no major issues aside from feeding troubles and my milk not coming in till way later than normal.
First, I would say that if there's no medical reason for your LO to come out before 39 weeks, then wait it out.
I had to be induced at 38 weeks and some change because of cholestasis and pre-e. After cervidil and 10 hours of pitocin, DS didn't engage, I didnt' dilate, my BP kept going up, and instead of putting me on mag, my doctor and husband (I wasn't with it at the time) made the decision to just do the c-section.
My recovery hasn't been too horrible, but there's no way that I would opt for a c-section again. My incision stung horribly (it still stings, but not as bad. It didn't really hurt so much as it just really, really stung), my feet quadrupled in size which made walking hurt, I can't sleep in our bed with my husband because it's too high and even with a step ladder it hurts too much to get in, and I generally feel...limited. It's frustrating.
That being said, you're not going to know how you're going to handle labor until you get there. You may be fine with the contractions. I would recommend at least giving a vaginal delivery a try, but this is definitely a conversation that you should continue with your doctor.
