    On a similar note, ever notice in many Disney/Pixar movies one parent is absent or dead? No mom in Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid. the dad dies in the Lion King. Finding Nemo the mom dies. I am sure there's more I can't think of.

    Also, Disney bought the rights to Meg Cabot's Princess Diaries series and made the dad dead in the movie. He's not dead in the books.

    Cinderella - no mom, dad dies too
    Sleeping Beauty - has parents but raised as an orphan
    Ariel - no mom
    Belle - no mom
    Snow White - no parents
    Jasmine - no mom
    Aladdin - orphan/street kid
    Rapunzel - stolen from parents
    Tiana - father dies
    Bambi - mom dies
    Dumbo - separated from his mother
    Simba - dad dies
    Nemo - mom dies
    Andy (Toy Story) - no dad
    Remi (Ratatouille) - mom dies, didn't know dad
    Lewis (Meet the Robinsons) - orphan

    I'm sure there are more. Merida and Mulan have families at least...and the Incredibles are one, too.

    Reese loves Nemo, in the opening scene she goes: uh oh, BIG fish. Incredible a isn't too bad, except for the death of all the Supers.
