off pill and no period yet

I went off the pill in August and should of gotten my period almost a week ago. Have had regular cramping on/off for awhile but still no sign. Is this a possible thing that happens when you go off the pill, your body trying to regulate? I think I read on here that someone didnt get there period for 40 days after going off the pill. I am close to that. I am thinking of talking to my MD about it but thought I would ask on here first.

PS took a test today and I am not PG

I have heard that being the situation for quite a few women that go off the pill and for a couple of months, too...not, just the first...I would check in with your OB and see what direction that they would want you to take, but I wouldn't personally worry until after two months or so. Good luck in getting back on schedule.

When I went off the pill I didn't get my period for over 2 months. I went to the dr. And my hormones were all over the place. She said if period didn't return by the following month to go back but it came and was pretty regular after that.
