I have a miserable cold! Pity party w/ me?

Last weekend I was the MOH in a wedding, DH was a groomsman and one of the other groomsmen had a cold. I kept my distance and washed my hands frequently but I guess between travel and pregnancy my normally stellar immune system let me down. Now I'm stuffy and sneezing and coughing and it just ain't pretty. My poor Rudolph nose! (Bonus: DH is sick, too)

I was trying to take it easy on the meds and get by with just Halls lozenges during the day and Benadryl (to dry things up and help me sleep) at night... but **TMI ALERT** last night I would cough so hard so suddenly that I peed myself a little in my drowsy sleep-deprived state. 2am panty change... Kegels didn't stop that lovely experience from happening. :(

So I finally caved and took Mucinex (it's also on my OB's "okay to take" list). The coughing is letting up but I feel like a zombie... Hopefully it'll help me get some rest. Coughing hard all night wasn't good for baby either... right? :-/

    Uh I don't envy you at all. I had a cold a couple weeks ago it was miserable. I found mucinex to be the most helpful, and nasal salt rinse. **I'm not sure its on the pregnant list**but delsym is an awesome cough suppressant. Curl up in the fetal position or at least bend over when you sneeze or cough its not quite so jolting. Hope you get over your funk soon!

    I picked up a nasty cold from a bachelorette party last week-I will join the pity party! Thank god the wedding is still a week away, I would probably cry if I had to leave the house right now!

    I don't have a cold per say but my seasonal allergies are through the roof right now :(. Sleeping is impossible!

    As a 4k teacher I knew I was doomed but wasn't expecting to catch anything this early!! I'm suffering pretty bad and haven't taken anything. I'm just using a cough drop here and there and a humidifier. I'm drained throughout the day but my nights are worse! I wake up coughing which leads me to gagging or I can't breath out of my nose sleep with my mouth open and have a horrible sore throat in the morning. Not fun :(

    We're using a humidifier and DH took a hot shower in our master bathroom right before bed so the steam would hang around the bedroom. That and the Mucinex helped a lot... I only woke up coughing once, thank goodness!

    Yeah today is going on 2 weeks of cold and cough. Cough drops, my doc said Robitussin was ok, tea and lots of tissues. Mucinex is not favorite, but it is not on my doc's ok to take list :( I did Sudafed and it worked ok. Hope you all feel better!

    I've had a cold this week as well. My dr prescribed omnaris a nasal spray. I've been using that, taking Tylenol when I've had a fever, and using netipot. Also, stay hydrated. Lots of hot water and salt water gargles has been helping. Feel better!

    Check on this before you use it, but I think that robitussin and mucinex have the same active ingredient. I can't imagine why one would be ok and not the other.

    Ugh I either have a cold or allergies. Either way, I'm miserable. :(

    I have terrible allergies that have really gotten bad this week. I am so sneezy and congested. I really like the Breath Right nasal strips (generics I have tried do not work as well). It is totally drug free which keeps my crazy down and I can tell a real difference. I still am quite congested, but I can usually breathe through at least one side. Small victories!
