Thank you so much for your advice, your thoughts and your prayers. They have been such a help.
LO has been admitted to the hospital and is currently receiving a round of fluids intravenously after having his blood drawn and catheterization for a urine sample, which was found to have a high number of ketones. The primary diagnosis is dehydration due to gastroenteritis. The plan as of now is to rehydrate, wait, and then try feeding orally. Hopefully we will be able to take him home later today....
I'm really glad that you and the drs at the hospital know what is wrong so he can get the care he needs! Hope he recovers quickly and you can go home today!
I hope everything turns out ok and I would file a complaint with the medical board about that crap doctor who apparently doesn't know the first thing about colic OR what was wrong with your baby.

Glad you took him in! That's scary stuff when you feel you can't trust your doc. I'd definitely complain about that.

Can't believe your regular doctor dismissed you so easily with something so serious! I hope you won't be going back to them. Glad to hear your LO is getting the care he needs. Hope he gets better soon!

You should be very proud of yourself for being such a good momma. So sorry you're going through this and I hope your LO can come home ASAP! I agree with PPs - file a complaint!!!
Great job, mama! Good for you for listening to your gut and speaking up for your LO. I'm glad there is a plan and I hope you get to go home soon. I agree with PP, file a complaint against that other doctor.
