Born at 12:11 am today, 7lbs and 19in exactly. I had been planning a med free birth, my first. On Thursday morning I had bloody show and some sporadic contractions. At my regular OB appointment I was 2cm and 50% effaced so nothing too exciting. At 5pm I started to have some strong regular contractions-great! Got to the hospital and checked into a room at 9pm and was 5cm and 90% effaced, after working through some contractions on the bed I hopped in the tub, which was nice until transition hit and I started to lose it.
While I was in the tub I felt this overwhelming urge to push, which resulted in the nurse hollering at me not to push as her and my husband hauled me out of the tub and over to the bed, they called a nurse code, and tried to hook me back up to the monitor, however the urge to push was something I couldn't control and baby Emmett Francis shot out in one push, his bag of water breaking as he came out. DH was right there, but honestly the bed caught the baby! Everyone is doing well. I can't figure how to post a picture from the iPad, but I'll keep trying.
Here's a picture - I couldn't figure out how to add it to my original post
Re: Emmett is here and delivered by daddy (sort of)
