I just got a notice in the mail today -- it states that due to the Affordable Health Care Act my insurance plan has been eliminated and I will not have coverage past 12/31/13. I think I want to curl up in a ball and cry. I now have to scramble and find an affordable private family insurance plan for all of us. I'm so bummed because I really had excellent insurance -- $10 co-pays, no co-pays for maternity, $500 deductible which is already met. I guess I should be thankful that at least the rest of my pregnancy and delivery will be covered.
Mine and my husband's employer doesn't offer health insurance. My employer has an HRA reimbursement that pays almost ALL of our insurance premiums every month. Plus I have an FSA and dental/vision plan through my work. Both of our employers have found it's cheaper for them to pay the federal fines that will be imposed upon them for not carrying insurance for their employees than actually providing it.
Sorry for the rant ... I'm just frustrated and a little panicked. Hopefully I'll be able to arrange coverage for my family before January. The baby will need to be seen regularly, plus my daughter goes to the doctor monthly for her ADHD. My hubby has VA coverage, but does see an out-of-VA doctor for his diabetes for which we'll need insurance for to continue for him to see. I'm the only one who won't "have" to regularly see a doctor.

If there is a light at the end of the tunnel in all of this tho insurance companies can no longer deny coverage due to pre existing conditions, so it might make shopping a tad bit easier. I know the timing is horibble and sucks tho. Hope it all works out for u!!!!
I'm so sorry aessary
I hope you are able to find something quickly and that is a good price.

Due Date 11/10/16
Couldn't have said it better myself! I'm so sorry that your company is doing that to you.
Although this is sometimes true, in this case it's just her company screwing her over. No one else.
