Two Thing Tuesday

1. What's your opinion on direct sales parties like 31 gifts, Norwex, Mary Kay?

2. What's your go-to meal when you don't know what to make for dinner?

Re: Two Thing Tuesday

  • 1. Ppl in my area don't really love these parties, but I do. I think 31's bags are great quality, Usborn books are the best, and I love getting together with other women. My sisters and SILs don't like going and it bums me out.

    2. Tacos. So easy.

  • 1) Hate them...  I'll buy the products (sometimes if I need that item - with one company I'm considered a "dealer" but I don't peddle products to ANYONE else - I just buy enough that it pays to pay the membership and get free shipping for the year), but honestly, don't make me waste an evening away from the kids in that way!!!  I don't get time away from my sweet LO's, the last thing I want to do is attend one of those parties, unless you're willing to let my kids terrorize your place for a while without me being there, in which case I'll buy the overpriced spatula that I can just go to restaurant supply and get for $8...

    2) Ugh - DH has so many dang "Food Rules" that this is a tough one because it all depends on what species he's eaten in the past 24 hours and in what order...  If he's not here... Then it's fair season on pizza, steak, burgers, tacos, chicken, nuggets, etc.

  • 1. Not really into it. I might buy some Kelly's kids crap. What is Norwex?

    2. Tacos, spaghetti, frozen pizza. Most of my dinners these days are 5 min prep. Example: tonight pour a bottle of marinade on some chicken breast and throw in oven. Frozen veggie steamer in microwave viola a "healthy" dinner:)

I like to go to them, but don't ever buy stuff. I think it's all overpriced and most of the time not something I need. I like Tupperware parties, because you get a free gift just for being there as a guest. :-)

    2. What's your go-to meal when you don't know what to make for dinner?
    Fish, rice and veggies.

  • 1. Direct sales parties aren't really my thing, and they aren't super popular in my circle so it's been years since I went to one. If there is something from one of those brands that I like I just order it myself.

    2. Pasta of some sort.

  • 1. Years ago I was a Pampered Chef consultant but only did like two parties (and one was for my SIL's wedding shower).  I hated doing parties!  I just became one so I could get a good deal on the products!  My friends and family would order from me so I'd just wait until I had enough orders at one time to submit.  Luckily my friends aren't really into it.  Once in awhile I'll get dragged to them but don't go seeking them out.  I did however go to an adult one for a bachelorette party and it was HILARIOUS!

    2. If DH is traveling my go to meal is quesadillas with black beans.  When I was pregnant with DD he traveled a ton and I felt like I was eating them all the time - which was great for my spicy cravings!

  • 1. HATE, HATE, HATE them. Did I mention I FREAKING HATE THEM???? It seems like 90% of my "friends" that hardly ever talk to me IRL have no problem "inviting" me to online parties to sell me crap. It drives me nuts. I have one friend who sells 31, Mary Kay and tea??? Tea. She's constantly bugging me about hosting even though I have told her a million times I'm not interested. I had to block her on FB because all of her posts were about things she was selling. Drove me nuts. Wow, that was a long rant. Sorry.

    2. Any type of pasta or we order take out.

Hey ILML, a friend of mine is hosting a Pampered Chef party. Sounds like you could be interested in participating?

  • Egh I'm whatever with them. I always feel obligated to buy and thats awkward but I don't want to. but occassionaly I see something I like and can only get through them so that's always cool.

My go to dinner.. probably polish sausage and fries or fried noodles. We always have sausage in the house and it's one of my more fav things to eat and super quick.
