@NYMama1 - that's interesting. Mine has been butt down pretty much since 18 weeks. He turns around vertically, so he'll face the side, then the back, then the front, but he doesn't seem to flip ever. Which is fine because we're a planned c-section so it doesn't matter where he ends up, but he definitely seems to be happy with his butt down.

I have no idea -- she moves a ton, so she could be any which way. But I have my first growth scan (of several that I will have till I give birth) on Tuesday so I will find out then!
I have no clue! I don't know how you guys can tell unless you've had a recent u/s. I mean I can feel kicks/punches on each side of my belly, but I don't know if LO is up/down/sideways.
Nevermind -- Change me to head down because right after I posted this I started getting rib kicks. I think there may be a weird telepathic link between my brain and this little person. Every time I'm like, "Gee, I haven't felt movement in a little while," WOMP right in the ribs or the vag. THANKS, KID.

Same thing happens here too! I'd like to think that means they are going to be obedient and good listeners.
I felt the weirdest thing last night though - it was like a muscle twitch right below my boob/breast bone. It freaked me out because I don't think she's big enough to be up that high? I told my husband it was like she was tickling the middle of my chest. He did not handle that well.
She felt like she was diaganol this morning and then she moved into transverse, but this is all speculation. I am guessing judging by where I feel kicks. I joke that she likes to lie transverse because my uterus is her personal hammock.
I actually asked them yesterday if they could tell when the baby was breech or not. All they told me was she wasn't. They can tell the position they're in when they measure you.
I had an appointment yesterday, and the day before that, I had an insane 1-2 hour period of intense movement. Like, more than ever before. It actually made me very nervous to the point that I called the doctor. Of course, she laughed and told me it's not possible for the baby to move too much.
She felt around at the appointment the next day and told me she thinks the baby was shifting around to get head down! Crazy, but REALLY exciting. Every ultrasound I've had, she's basically been sitting straight up, so it's nice to see she's maybe getting into position.
I feel like I just have no idea. I feel movement on both sides at different times. How do you know if you're feeling kicks or punches or elbows or shoulders? I wish I knew.
Isn't it weird my office doesn't disclose this info? I've asked at my last two U/S's, and every time they say, "Oh, it doesn't matter, he will keep moving." I normally press the issue, but they keep telling me "not to stress about it." Like, literally won't tell me. I have an U/S on Tuesday and I just want to know for curiosities sake... I will put my foot down this time and remind them that this is my baby, my body, and my insurance paying them; tell me NOW (please).
All but about three days she's been breech. My poor bladder is her personal trampoline. I know we still have plenty of time for her to flip, but it does make me a little nervous that she's getting too comfy butt down.
She was breech during my ultrasound today. She's been breech for every ultrasound and even though I know it's super early, I have a feeling she's going to stay that way.

What's nice about my hospital is they now have a system where they post all of your test results online (secured by a username/password) so that you can go and view all of the medical reports. It's called "MyChart". So even if they failed to mention every detail, you can go check things out. This is fairly new here and I didn't have this with DD. It allows you to communicate with the doctors by message, view lab/ultrasound/xray, etc reports, put in prescription refill requests, request appointments, and much more. It's pretty nice.

FTM question here so please don't judge when I ask this lol but can the doctors tell by just feeling your stomach? I don't have any more ultrasounds so I'm curious as to how they would find out lol. Thanks!
Last u/s last week she was breech and I voted transverse today only because of the amount of movement last night and where I feel kicks and jabs today.
my appointment last week, midwife was feeling around and said she felt a foot down near my pubic bone. Which i figured, since i get these fast kicks way down low all the time.
Eventually i'll start doing the all 4's position but I dont feel like there's any rush.

Yes they can generally tell by feeling around.

At my 20 week US he was breech... then at the US I had last week he was head down, but now I feel all the kicking down on my cervix. He's so active right now its impossible to tell for sure. It could change at any moment.
ya, other than the fast kicks i feel down low - i really have no clue where she is at any given time. I see limbs and body parts poking out of my stomach - and i touch them and try to figure out what it could be but i have no clue.

Ive felt the twitch for months now! I think it really is just muscle spasm Bc of boob growth?
I just went in for an appointment yesterday and my doctor told me that my little girl is head down. Pretty scary and exciting knowing that she's in her ready position!
I had my growth scan this morning and so I asked what position the baby was in! Head down. What was funny was I said "I keep feeling movement at the top right of my bump, is that the legs/feet then?" And the sonographer said, "no, that's where the bowels are". Ok then. So my baby's farts are creating punching movements. Worrying! Lol.
I've been doing belly mapping. From what I've learnt I was pretty sure he was head down and I figured the large mass under my ribs was a bum. I've also been doing things to encourage baby to stay head down.
I had an ultrasound today so I know for sure that he's head down, bum in ribs and facing my spine. So I was pretty excited that I was right.
