Well then...didn't see where this was heading! I just called my doctor and spoke with the nurse. She stated that they do not see negative side effects from Clomid, other than one woman who had some sore of an allergic reaction to the medication.

My guess is that many stories I'm hearing are the negative ones. Maybe I'm dumb/naive for thinking that. Women who take this drug and have success aren't going to come on these forums looking for help, whereas women who DO have negative effects will come looking for help to share similar stories. This explains why every clomid story on here seems to be a negative one.

We'll see how it goes. I truly feel like I'm not taking any risks doing this; my husband and I have prayed for direction, and we both feel like taking this medication may be what it takes to lead us in the right direction to get pregnant.

I've had a clean bill of health my whole life. No history of cysts or anything, and bloodwork taken back in June came back totally normal. My cycles before Yaz where like clockwork. I don't feel like I was being hasty by calling the doctor for help when I started having 70+ day cycles. That just didn't seem normal, and I'm glad I went.

Long story short: I'm taking clomid unmonitored, and I have faith that this will work out! Like I said, I bet there are thousands more positive stories than the handful of negative ones I've read on here.

This kind of crap makes me nuts! As someone who does pray, wtf? It is amazing to me that for some people the will of God somehow always seems to line up with what they selfishly want. I understand wanting a baby. I even understand being impatient. It sucks to want something so badly and not have that much control over getting it. But you were already leaning this way. You knew what you wanted. Don't use God or faith as the excuse that justified what could be a really stupid action. Did you think YHWH was going to appear as a burning bush and say "Don't take unmonitored medication, wait and see a specialist."? No, you want a baby and you want one now and damn the consequences further down the line.

I believe that God gave us free will and intelligence that we need to use to navigate life. He also sends us other people who can give us perspective on our decisions. I have an example of someone not being a total dumbass even when it would have been easy for her and her husband to say that the Lord told them to do something dangerous:

I have a friend who is a very good Catholic (much better than me). The most important thing she wanted from life was to get married and have a big Catholic family. She met her husband in college, they got married, and started trying to have babies. She had always had some issues with her reproductive organs, but they had that under control. Her first pregnancy went okay. Her second was not as good and she had to be really closely monitored. Her third was horrific. She had every problem in the book and ended up on extended bedrest, went into premature labor, and nearly died on the table during her C-section. The baby survived and is healthy. Her doctors had talked to her and her husband during the pregnancy and told them that this really had to be the last one. That she really needed a hysterectomy. That if she ever got pregnant again it would kill her, full stop. After 3rd baby was born, they really sat down and they prayed about it. And instead of going with that whole "God will protect me, faith will find a way" bullshit, she had the surgery. They are now looking into adoption to grow their family.

I know this had nothing to do with Clomid, but, seriously, take responsibility for your own actions, You are being selfish and a little willfully ignorant about this. I hope things work out for you. And I hope that even if you do get pregnant now, there are not longer term consequences.

This was my experience with 50mg Clomid.  I am still on pelvic rest/exercise and heavy lifting restrictions until hopefully getting cleared during tomorrow's CD3 u/s.  I could have very easily lost my ovaries if it was unmonitored.

@Wolfette139 I almost paged you to this thread, since I remembered you had serious side effects from 50mg of Clomid.  So many OB/GYNs (and the first RE I saw) think that monitoring is not necessary for a 50mg dose.

Whatever ghost. I have had testing done. I have had all the cd3 blood work and the a p4 at 7dpo. I had a unltrasound done prior to clomid and I have also had an hsg. But you go ahead and make you assumptions that just proves what an ass you are.

Obviously no one is going to convince you to stop with the unmonitored clomid cycles, but for the sake of any fertility you may have not destroyed please look into femara. (I am not saying it is safe to use without monitoring because I will have 3 ultrasounds per cycle on it.) the side effects are generally less agressive than clomid.

Also, I told my doctor that we had been trying since the end of March, and she asked when I got off birth control. I let her know that DH and I had not been using any protection since after we had gotten married (2 1/2 years ago). I told her that we had NOT been actively trying to hit my fertile window or anything like that, so I really didn't count it as "trying". We just were not preventing. Maybe she took that into account.

I am not making excuses for her (or me for that matter). Just trying to give you all the info.

  • My ob prescribed me Clomid (I have a prior diagnosis of annovulatory PCOS) and he wasn't going to do any monitoring. I read these boards and talked to a few ladies I know IRL that have gone through infertility issues prior to getting the script filled and I RAN from that ob and called an RE to schedule an appointment.

If having a child is THAT important to you, then WAIT until you have proper monitoring. You could easily ruin your chances of ever being able to have a child if you aren't monitored properly. Is it really worth taking that risk just because you're being impatient and don't want to take the proper channels to get pregnant? I've added months on to our journey trying to get pregnant, but to me, being healthy when I get pregnant is more important than the speed at which I get pregnant.

OP I think you should really take a step back and listen to these ladies. They know what they are talking about. The reason you hear more bad stories than good when it comes to unmonitored Clomid is because it tends to turn out bad more often than good.

  • @MeatandBandP   You are right! I intro'd to 3T and then realized that I was a bit too early to actually start intro-ing there. Once I realized my mistake, I didn't look back at my post. I should have. I could have gotten this information then instead of today. That is my mistake. I just didn't go back to the board because I was a little embarrassed because I wanted to ask stupid questions about my little clomid and provera while these ladies were much more "deep" into things than me.

I didn't reject their advice or anything, I just didn't go back to the board, and I really didn't think anyone else would post after I apologized for my intro and kinda stepped away.

That day was just full of mistakes

I didn't realize 10% means it happens to everyone like you all are trying to suggest.

I am done reading after this. You are literally too fucking stupid to function. Do whatever you want, but don't post it all around here like throwing caution to the wind is acceptable. You are impatient and playing with fire. Good luck with your shit mentality in life
