Re: Your LO's weight at 12 months

  • DS2 was born at 7 pounds, 5 ounces - he was full-term.  He's now somewhere between 17 and 18 pounds.  His 12-month appointment is on 9/23.

Reid was 9lbs 3oz at birth (1 week early) and was 27 pounds even at 9 months.

We have his 12 month appt this Friday, but I have a feeling he'll be the same or maybe even less.  He's been walking since he was 10 months old, so he's really lost some of his baby fat since then. Makes me sad :(

  • DS was 8lbs 11oz at birth and 18lbs 6oz at his 9-month appointment. We have been trending around the 25% since around 2-4 months. Our home scale says he's around 21.5 now. People always say how chubby he is, even though he's in the 95% for height, so he's probably actually on the skinnier side.
  • I dunno y'all. That's not how I read the OP. I read it as, she had a preemie, she's still small, and wanted to see if she compared to other LOs around here. I'm guessing she's not trying to have the smallest baby, but was hoping someone else on here had another baby that's similar size, KWIM?

I know she's posted about her baby's size before, but I guess it doesn't bother me. I don't see the big deal.

  • DD had her appointment this morning. She is 24.8lbs and 2'8 ft tall.

She was 9lbs 10ounces at birth.

  • Lurker here: at 1 yr checkup today, DD was 15 lb 9 oz. She was only 6 lb at birth, and has been growing right along her curve though!

  • Thanks for your responses. I'm not trying to win a contest for smallest baby. That's crazy! BTW my baby was originally due in November, so of course it's only natural that she's on the small size compared to everyone else. No big deal! It's great to hear our babies are healthy, no matter their size. Health is #1.
  • On Friday, DD weighed 22 lb 5 oz. naked.  30" tall.  I think she's in around the 75th percentile for both.

  • Last Friday at his 1 yr appt, he was 20 lbs 8 oz & 29.5 inches. 25-50% for both.

    DS: 9/18/12 - 40w5d // DD: 05/17/16 - 40w

  • DD was 7lb 6oz at birth and 16lb 13oz at her one year checkup (on her birthday - mean momma that I am).

  • DD was 5 lbs 8 oz at birth, and 18 lbs 4 oz at her one year appointment.

As a small baby owner, I understand the focus on size - at least for me, I want to feel like my kid is normal. I still get comments about how she is small, or that she looks like she is younger, so it's nice to see that she's actually somewhere within the average range of the board babies. :)
