Truly, a steamer basket and a regular old food processor are your best investments. Baby food makers aren't good for anything other than making baby food but the basket and food processor obviously will serve many purposes.
We have the Baby Brezza from Williams Sonoma. I love it because it steams and purées. It also has settings for quite a few different foods. I wouldn't have bought it myself, but we got it as a gift. I recommend it.
I use a stainless steel steamer basket (cheap) and our regular Cuisinart food processor. We bought a baby unit and it was too much hassle.
Same here. Part of me wanted a baby bullet because it's cute but you definitely don't need anything like that. I made big batches in a regular food processor and froze it in ice cube trays. Very easy, very cheap. I work full time and had no problem finding time to make her food this way.
I use the Beaba Babycook. I loved it for the first couple months of weaning when she wasn't eating very much. Now it only makes 4 servings for her max, so I feel like I could use something bigger. I know they do have a bigger one now that came out after I got ours.
Cuisinart Baby. It steams and pureees, and has a bottle warmer in back. Small too so it doesn't take up too much counter space.
Yeah we got this, it is usually on sale at Macy's making it around the same price as the Beaba ones, without looking like something made by Fisher Price.
