Lo sayin no

Is anyone else's little one saying NO and more all the time? If I ask him something he tends to say his new favorite word no. I think he learned it at daycare but who knows. Plus should I listen when he says no to show I understand him?

More he only says once in a while the same with yes.

  • My ds always says no and never has said yes:) sometimes I listen to him but with food especially I always ask if he's sure and he normally starts eating again. I don't think he really understands the word yet.

mine doesn't say LO yet, but I would assume LOs mimicking the word more than understanding the meaning. So maybe demonstrate if he says no to food you take it away but then if he fusses give it back saying "yes".

  • When J is about to go after something he knows he can't have he says "nonono." He will shake his head yes sometimes, but won't say it.
  • He's done it once when I repeatedly told him no because he was pulling utensils out of the dishwasher.... he told me "no" back. He shakes his head yes to questions now, too!

  • If I tell Wyatt it's time for a diaper change he runs away saying no no no no no. It's a little cute, mostly annoying. He knows exactly what it means when he uses it like that.

  • LO will say no, and shake his head no too.  He will also say yes occasionally.  He definately understands what no means though!

  • Our daughter has rarely heard the word "no", we tend to say, "no thank you" "please dont"; so she says her please and thank yous. She will say yes, if you ask her a question and the answer really is yes. She will say, "nuh-uh" if the answer is no.

  • Evie does not say no, but she does say "Go Away" to everyone, including the dog.
