Another question for this board - solids

I started my son on solids at 4m1w at the suggestion of our pedi. ?He's done well with it from the start and is starting to eat more and more. ?I of course don't know if I'm feeding him enough, too much, etc. ?I'm sure I'm just fine but I have some questions for those who have been solid feeding for 1-2 months.

Which is better - increase cereal or increase fruits and veggies?

Currently DS eats 2 Tbsp of cereal and 1 1/2 -2 stage 1 jars of food a day (in addition to his 28-32oz of formula a day).

I'm thinking I should REDUCE fruits and veggies and increase cereal???

There seems to be no advice on the internet and my next pedi appointment isn't for 3 weeks. ?I figure I'd talk to some other mom's before making a call.

    DD doesn't eat much cereal at all anymore. She just has it when I can sneak it in her fruit in the morning. I think the fruits and veggies have more nutrients in them and are more important than cereal.

    M&C - I thought so too...but everything I've read says 4-6 tbsp of cereal a day...that seemed like alot to me. ?Thanks for your feedback. ?How many jars of baby food does your DD eat a day? ?The container we feed are 2.5oz each. ?When did you move to stage 2? ?I was thinking to wait another month.

    DD started stage 1 right before 6 months.  I tried to go through most of those and stayed with stage one for about 3-4 weeks. Then I moved on to stage 2. She had combinations of things where she had already had one of the ingredients.  Now she eats some of the breakfast blends that have oatmeal mixed in already.  I also sneak in some oatmeal if I am giving her a plain fruit puree. I think the main benefit of cereal is iron, so if they are getting iron elsewhere it's not that important.
