Also, you said you have Type 2 diabetes. How long ago were you diagnosed? How do you not know if you're on too much insulin? I'm with @superspecialsnowflake on this. Makes no sense.
Wow.....it does make sense. I was diagonsed two months before i got pregnant. And was told i didnt need any medication at that point because i could lose it with weight lose. Lost 10/15 pounds got pregnant. My first dr told me i had to test after each meal, and in the beginning i wasnt taking care of myself. So they put me on glyburide, my new doctor said it wasnt working and put me on insulin, a week later they were still not happy with my levels and increased it. Then i started to get headaches, dizziness, couldnt walk straight, blurred vision etc. so we thought it was too much insulin, hence why i was in te hospital last weekend. They found nothing wrong with me, saw the eye dr, a neurologist. I was sent home, went to the ER tuesday and had an untreated UTI. Wednesday they put me on insulin before each meal. But now i need to wait for the UTI to go away to determine if it was just the UTI or it is the insulin.
I've never known those symptoms to go along with a UTI. So, since you're monitoring what have your readings told you? Too low? Because that's how you'd know if it was the insulin.
Eta: I'm aware that it can cause a fever but that's usually when you haven't had it treated.
Actually if it goes untreated it can cause those to happen.

Ummm, yes, that's what I said in my ETA. So, how long did you have it without it being treated? My MW tests my urine for UTI's every visit, so I don't understand how that could have happened...especially since you're extremely high risk.
Im not sure how long, probably a week. Thats how long the symptoms were. And i also brought it up on Wednesday because before i even got settled in the L&D room i had to do a urine sample. And then they did a urine sample on Friday morning as well.
They said on Wednesday you can get the symptoms before the infection shows up.
I glanced at my mom then back at the doctor and said
"Im going to call bull shit because they did two samples, and blood work, so i dont get how it was missed."

Okay, look, I've been dealing with blood sugar and insulin for 13 years. And this is just not adding up.
What were your blood sugar levels when you were dizzy and couldn't walk straight?
I also side-eye what you said before (that they took you OFF of insulin while investigating this). ...WTF? They put you on insulin initially for a reason. What the heck did your blood sugars do when you were off of insulin? And with a possible infection on top of it (which ALSO increases blood sugars)?
Sorry, no. This is either completely bogus, you're not explaining well, or your doctors are nut jobs.
70-90 when i woke up in am. And after each meals it was between 110-120, because thats where they want them.
And no i took my damn self of the insulin because i had talked to other nurses and another doctor. So i detoxed myself.
And when i was off the insulin is when i lost my appetite.
And it can sound bogus to you, but thats the truth.
And yes the doctor i saw was a fellow doctor and is a moron. I told the office that she is no longer allowed to see me.
I'm not defending OP in any way, I haven't followed everything and don't know the whole backstory. However, I'm also pregnant with twins and started this pregnancy at 229 pounds and as of last week I was 230 pounds. My babies are growing great and I didnt gain any weight with my son until the very end of the pregnancy and expect the same again this time. So I just wanted to say its possible.
And my doctors said that as long as the babies were fine/growing then they arent concerned.
this my post introducing myself and trying to connect with other women.
I'm afraid the feeling is not mutual.
Oh. But I did see where you were bragging about how awesome your family is and claiming that Mavgirl was jealous of you. There are some bumpies on here that looooove bragging about how awesome their relatives are (especially in laws). You would totes get along with them.
Exactly! You were not being blunt you were being a bitch! Obviously you had no intentions of connecting with anyone here otherwise you wouldn't have been so nasty right off the bat.
Sorry lady you're on the post-it now. Maybe try November 2013 since you're delivering in November anyways. Just try not to be such a twatwaffle this time and you may actually make some friends.

No words to the bolded part.... I just can't...
OKay, but you still haven't answered the most important questions. What were your blood sugars when you were having the symptoms? And what did they do when you were "detoxing" (::eyeroll::) ? The fact that you haven't answered these questions before makes me strongly believe that you weren't checking your blood sugars during these times.
Actually i did answer those questions. I didnt test my sugars because i wasnt eating. So how was i to test if i wasnt eating....
The only reason i took myself off the insulin because i wanted to make sure it wasnt the insulin. And the doctors understood.

No wonder she was shaky and about to pass out......................
As a woman who almost lost her daughter because of my blood sugar not being controlled, I'm going to bow out of this post now because I'm about to tell you just how selfish I think you are.
@risalyn, Yeah, I made no comments about the weight because it is possible.
OP, as far as taking yourself off of insulin against YOUR doctor's advice, that has got to be the most ignorant choice you could make. I just can't with that. Also, you can still test your blood sugar if you're not eating. Your glucometer doesn't require food, it requires blood.

Yes i know that. Im not an idiot.
You were the one that said it.
Okay. Well it wouldnt have done anything if i wasnt eating.
All of my symptoms were BEFORE the insulin stopped. And the doctors understood why i did it because they couldnt figure out what was wrong. I dont know why the uti didnt come up last thrusday. I asked the doctors about it. And i called bullshit on them. I started back on the insulin when they told me to.
I am following exactly what my doctors are saying. Expect i stopped insulin for a few days.

I agree that the whole issue with blood sugars and insulin has me puzzled. And frankly a little pissed off that someone wouldn't follow their drs advice.
I am also confused as to why it's not monitored more closely. I'm not considered high risk other than for the fact it's a multiples pregnancy, and I don't have pre existing diabetes and I was still sent for the gluclose test multiple times to make sure everything was still ok, and I have also been on bi weekly appointments since 24 weeks.
It is closely monitored. I test in the am when i wake up, take my insulin, take my daughter to school come home, take the insulin im on before each meal, eat breakfast. Test two hours after. Make myself lunch, take my insulin, test two hours after, make dinner, take my insulin then eat, then test two hrs after dinner. Then take my night time insulin.

So wait what I'm getting is your dr was ok with you detoxing to see if it was the insulin... yea load of crap no dr in their right mind would do that its called malpractice. There is a reason for the insulin, did you know pregnancy in itself can make you shaky ESP if you do not eat. I'm going with this is total BS and your just some troll with an AE.

Hugs to you! Please do tell her how selfish she is being she obviously needs to hear it.
I said I wasn't sure if you were a real person because you just got here and have been pretty rude to some of the posters. Excuse me while I go hand out skittles to poor people now...gotta go
No Skittles for poor people... C'mon!! Didn't you get the memo?
And offering to post pics doesn't prove that all this is real. The multiples board had a fake triplets mom a few weeks ago that had stolen pics from someone's blog.
I just got home from a long day out and about, and w/o even reading the first three pages, I can see this dipshit is playing Dr. Quinn medicine woman. WTF is going on??? (Off to drink chocolate milk and read this for my evening entertainment.)
Didn't you notice that her doctor is OBVIOUSLY the interwebz? Only people who use the internet to diagnose and treat their medical issues could come up with such a complex treatment plan.
Re: New
That's generally regarded as not a very good idea on TB.

The lack of quoting in some of these posts is deeply confusing.
