Worst dr vistit. Sitting in car crying. Update

I just had my dr appointment for the results of my anatomy scan. She has a small cyst on her brain. And I am having heart problems. I have to stay here and have blood work done and an EKG and possible more monitoring. I'm trying to hold it together but I can't stop crying. I just want to curl up in bed.

I'm so sorry. (((Hugs))) T&Ps for you and your family. Have they gone into any detail about what can be done for her? And I hope you are ok. Easier said than done, but try to stay strong for LO. Keep us posted on what happens.

Oh no! T&P! Let us know about the EKG and I dont have any experience but from a few pps the cyst is something that can and often does clear up on its own?

I don't know if this will make you feel any better but a friend if mines baby girl had a cyst on her brain at the anatomy scan, it ended up going away and she has a perfectly healthy 3 week old. Thoughts and prayers and hugs.

This does help, thank you. Doc said it can clear up on its own, or it could be a genetic defect. They didn't see any other markers so that is what I am holding onto. Thank you all so much for your support. It's funny how compleat strangers can help in a time like this. My appointment is in a hour for the EKG and I will update you all. I won't get another ultrasound to check on her unless her results come back ok from the genealogist. Never thought I would hope not to see her again until she was born

I was told that 1 in 30 women are pregnant with a baby with a cyst on their brain and it is only a problem for every 1 in a million babies

Hi there.....I am a complete lurker on this board, so I hope you don't mind me replying to your post. My DD had a cyst on her brain at the 20 week a/s......we were terrified even though both the tech and dr said it would go away on its own. We went back at 28 weeks for a follow up a/s and it was gone. Since then, I've heard of many, many, many people having had this same finding and EVERY time the cyst has gone away. Also, I've mentioned it at each of my 20 week a/s with my two subsequent children to the tech and both times she said she has never seen one not go away!!! (So in three years, the same tech has NEVER seen one not go away!) Please find some comfort in knowing they are common and they almost always go away. Take care of yourself. I'll definitely keep you and your little one in my prayers.

I don't know why they wouldn't schedule a f/u a/s either???? I would have thought that standard after an abnormal finding? I would DEFINITELY inquire about it!!

Praying for you!!!

DS had 3 cysts on his brain at the 20w ultrasound without any other markers. We did a follow up at 23-24 weeks and they were gone. He is now a happy, Healthy, almost 3 yr old.

This baby has 1 cyst on the brain and no other markers as well (in the preliminary report) . Dr said we could request a follow up but we haven't decided yet.

My baby has a cyst on her brain and they aren't even recommending a follow up.

An isolated choroid plexus cyst has a very low chance of leading to complications.
