Fffc

My BFF is driving me crazy. We live a half hour apart. So I try to suggest places in the town between us. She always picks places by her or even further. I know she has 2 under 2 but it can't be that much harder if she is already in the car. I love but

Wait this is what I do too. I didn't know this was bad. Otherwise I'd never get him to nurse.

  • I generally love animals. We have a cat but I grew up with dogs and honestly I'm much more of a dog person than cat (although I do love Stella cat). But there is a dog in one of the adjoining backyards that those neighbors put out every morning sometime around 5:45 (FYI, I'm a SAHM and my kid sleeps until 9am every morning). It then proceeds to bark for the next hour while those people sit in their living room (with their blinds open) watching TV. I have imagined throwing rocks at the dog several times or going over and ringing their doorbell over and over and over again until they shut their dog up. Instead I might just call Animal Control. The only time I am angry enough and brave enough to do anything is early in the morning since I have been woken up that early every day for the last five months.

Why would animal control care about a barking dog? That is irritating for the neighbors but hardly warrants a phone call.

I have a barking dog next to my house too and I know it can really get to you. Where I live excessive barking (meaning hours without stopping)is against a noise ordinance. My neighbor has been warned several times by animal control and it has slowed down some.

  • A dog-related FFFC -- I am starting to regret getting our second dog (a Sheltie) now that we have a baby.  He is a lot of work, is really needy and jealous around the baby, and sheds like a mother...and with a crawler in the house, it's getting insane.  Every time Henry crawls on the floor (which we vacuum several times a week) he finds a huge clump of dog hair.

    Ugh.

  • @Wally3, that's frustrating. Do what I do! Go to her town once, then don't go again until she makes an effort to come to you. All of my friends live about 2 hours away and I went to see them after the girls were born. Then I told her to come to me next time. The girls are almost 12 months and I'm still waiting for them to visit. I feel like they should make an effort too, so we just won't visit until that happens!

  • I came into work today at 8 and haven't touched a bit of actual work yet.  It's 10:30 here.

I'm passive-aggressively protesting my boss' sexist decision to move me out of my private office and into a cubicle so that a new (male) hire can take it.

i really hope no one sends me a picture of their pee stick as a christmas card.
Holy moly....I was thinking of starting a collection of pictures of things I've peed on so I can send it to people.  It might illustrate to people who post pictures like this how utterly gross it is to post a picture of a used pregnancy test.  And as a hilarious gesture, one of the pictures will include some things owned by the people to whom I'm sending it.

I'm getting that way as I get older.  At first I thought it was me being a lazy mom, but I think it is more about me not wanting to waste time trying to please other people.  I usually just wear a basic foundation and mascara now.

Yea...I wish sexism was easier to prove.  I know I get paid less than other males that work here, but because no one of us has the exact same job description, I can't technically claim sexism.  But when my boss comes to me to address his letters, plan company parties, order food for meetings, and fax documents even though I'm not a secretary, it's super insulting.  This office thing is just the last item on a long list of things that make me suspect my boss thinks I'm not as worthy as a male employee.  That, and he's Mormon.

Nope,  You just need one of these bad boys.

    Genius! I must get one.
  • A cousin gave her positive pee sticks as Christmas gifts. I wish I was kidding.

I'm pissed that its cold enough for me to need real shoes and a hoodie. I'm buying a pumpkin spice latte in protest.

Insurance is putting us up in a hotel till they can decide if they're going to pay for our bathroom damage. Alice has had more fun exploring the room than she has had in ages. I need to get her out more.

That is utterly disgusting. I don't care how much glitter, paint, and cute crap you put on it, it's still something you pissed on.

Well, I hope she peed on one for each of you. Because it's only a good gift if they're individualized...obviously.

oh no, we didn't get one. Parents and siblings got them. We are just cousins. In total she gave out like 7. I mean, I kept my pee sticks, but I sure as hell didn't give them out!

as of late, the less makeup i wear, the clearer my complexion is. FU makeup!

i definitely always put on moisturizer though.
I had a phase of not wearing any most days, but lately I've gone back to my 5 minute routine, just moisturizer, powder, mascara, eyeshadow... I'm one of those slightly shallow people that just feel like I have a better day if I'm "put together."

  • I have and will always use scrunchees! I have too much hair not to.
  • I ate 3 pumpkin spiced krispy kremes and about 1/4 gallon of ice cream in the past 36 hours. But at least I ran 4 miles this morning pushing the baby in the BOB.

I also gave both boys said krispy kremes for lunch yesterday.... with grapes. MOTY here.

I had a long talk with myself though and I think I'm better. My head has been a mess lately.

  • Also re: makeup, I put it on maybe once a week. Typically I go weeks without it. I SAH though, and just don't feel the need. I never really enjoyed putting on makeup or really cared so much though, so I use not having to work and staying at home with my little ones as my excuse to not do it.

Meh, you got a week until the big #1. You're good :) We started whole milk a week ago and we hit 1 on the 29th. Whatever, he likes it and it's only small bits so he has no trouble with it.

I have another. I'm not decorating for Halloween. I'm skipping straight to "fall decor" out of pure laziness because I don't want to do any redecorating for E's party since it will be at our house.

I never decorate for Halloween, its my favorite holiday because I like playing dress up and Emma was born on Halloween but I don't like Halloween decorations. I do fall/harvest decorations that stay up till Christmas decor comes out on black Friday.

  • @chricast - another Halloween baby over here.  I am even more psyched for Fall this year!  I was actually just shopping for a new Fall wreath online when I read this.
  • @Cbeanz I am so excited that for the rest of my life I have a great reason to celebrate Halloween and will always have a reason to dress up because it is Emma's birthday  :D
