Normally I don't jump in on this kind of stuff, but you need to GTFO. Everyone here has given the OP sound advice without bullying her at all. And she has taken everything they have said in stride, with a lot more grace than you have. This group of ladies have been together for a long time now, and yes it really is a community. We all have outside lives, but this is also important to us as well. If you have no interest in internet forums, then why are you here? Your input was not necessary and obviously not received well, so it is time for you to just walk away.
As far as anyone booking it other than him that's a no. He booked it himself as each individual does every year for them and their spouses. They don't use agents for this. I did already confirm as of a few hours ago he booked it since as I said before I have helped plan these parties. I have my own event planning business so I know all about this Christmas party and how it all goes down. It is nothing mandatory as even the bigger people don't go some years-no one is required and actually a few months ago when we had dinner with a group of the bigger people they congratulated us and knew we wouldn't be going. They completely understood...now I realize could they be telling him different. It could be a possibility but knowing I've planned the guest list and been involved with corporate many times I don't think that's the case. It's not about being with the baby for two days..I can handle that alone. It's the fact that it was discussed and he shouldn't have done this behind my back at all. It's out of respect..I know he wouldn't like it if I made plans to leave for the weekend and didn't tell him. It's both ways..I'm very reasonable about things and yes I'm upset and disappointed he's done this without talking to me. The golf trip is another issue but has nothing to do with this, I just wanted y'all to see we already had a conversation about him booking things and not telling me. Ultimately as I said I wouldn't have had a problem if he would have talked to me first before doing this. I'm upset and I don't really plan to blow up on him..not healthy for me and baby but I know how he is and he's never wrong. Trust that there are other issues here but I don't need a therapy session. His lack of communication once again is what's upsetting. I'm not worried about an affair at all so that comment doesn't bother me. I don't want anyone here getting upset with anyone else as everyone feels and can see this situation differently. It just comes down to respect so if you and your husband agree on something the last thing you'd expect would be to find out from someone else he went back on that. Yes this is my 2nd chile but his first. I have DD from a previous relationship and he's been in her life the past 4 years so he knows life changes by now. Me staying here isn't what I'm upset about, it's going behind my back. But knowing that its confirmed what he did I will just talk with him about it tomorrow. I may have made him feel he couldn't tell me but that's also not an excuse. We are married and even if we weren't this decision should still be discussed together.
