My mother

Since I have had Lily, I have had a whole new respect for my mother.  It's tough being a mom and loving someone so much!  That being said, I would like to tell you about how much my mom saved from my brother and me growing up.  Apparently, she wrote out on a piece of paper our due dates, her last menstrual, every doctor's appt, name options, and if anything happened that was scary during the pregnancy.  She even did it for the baby she lost.  She wrote down everything for my first two Christmases (I'm the oldest.).  She saved hair, embilical cords, and baby teeth.  The baby teeth were kind of weird and sweet at the same time.

I haven't been very good about writing things down for Lily.  I feel like I'm slacking.  Are any of you being this meticulous?  Do you have mothers who were like this?

    My mom didn't do all that. I am writing in a baby book and I did a belly book too. I will save a little hair curl and her first tooth if I can. I donno if that's creepy but I want to. I did not save the umbilical cord stump, it grossed me out...

    I SAH and have still been slacking. I have filled out most of his baby book and try to take lots of picture and videos. I need to start taking more pictures with the actual camera instead of iphone that's my goal. And I don't think I want to save the teeth the umbilical cord grossed me out once it was detached.

    I'm making a baby scrapbook and I'm also writing letters to my baby. I started around 32 weeks and did about one a week. I'm not sure if I'll continue, I've done about 4 since she's been born so maybe I'll just do every month?

    My mom saves/remembers everything. It's weird, because she doesn't really come off as sentimental most times, but she has an amazing memory when it comes to stuff like that.

    I have baby books and scrapbooks for both kids, and I'm diligent about keeping up with them. I enjoy it, and I hope they will too someday.

    I also have a blog that I started when DD was born, and have also added DS. I write to them about good times, struggles, anything really. I don't plan to tell either of them about it, but will instead have the entries printed for their 18th and 15th birthdays, respectively. I hope I can keep it a secret until then, because I think it will be something really cool to give them when they are older...
