Faint positive is now negative :(

I got a faint faint positive on Saturday and tested again today and there is absolutely nothing. I did the test first thing in the morning too. AF is due today so it's really early but I'm thinking it may be a chemical pregnancy. Is there any way it could show up positive, then negative but still mean I'm pregnant? I'm trying not to get my hopes up if it really is negative but also wishing its a mistake and I am pregnant. Super bummed

There is a such thing as a false negative. I would say wait it out for 2-3 days and if AF doesn't come test again.

I would get a digital test that can detect up to 5 days before your missed period and it will tell you either pregnant or not pregnant.

Definitely get a digital. I had a really faint positive (9DPO) but the digi came back crystal clear. GL!

I had that happen to me. I had 4 positive tests then the next day took 2 more including the digital and they all turned negative. Then on the Sunday I started bleeding w no cramping. I chalked it up to a chemical pregnancy. Good luck! I couldn't find anything online which described my situation. I also went to the dr to get a blood draw and he said my numbers were practically 0. Maybe go to ur dr.

Like PP said you aren't out until you get your period! There is no reason to visit your doctor like princesscays suggested. There is nothing they can do for you and a lot of time their blood test are less sensitive than HPT are. You would just be having unnecessary medical work done.

Test again in the morning if your AF doesn't arrive. Make sure you use a digital or a pink dye test as the blue tests are known for having a lot of false positives. Also, make sure you are reading the test within the time limit so you aren't looking at an evaporation line.

Well I'm only going to the doctor because I made the appointment a month ago. It's a preconception visit to have blood tests and whatnot. I had low iron in the past so want to see about that too. I'm still going to go. She may not think a blood test is needed but I still have questions.

There was a post about this recently on the first tri board with a lot of good info. You might try there.

Also, it may have to do with how diluted your urine was, how sensitive the test was, if you used a different brand of test, etc. If I were in your shoes, I would get an FRER (one of the most sensitive brands) and test again tomorrow morning with FMU.

Same thing happened to me last month- unfortunately we lost ours :-( but I'm back this month with high hopes! We had all faint lines last time- but this time our line was much more pronounced! Keep trying and dont let it upset you too much- you gotta stay upbeat for your next go

BBT plummeted and AF started today so I'm officially out this month. Took it hard yesterday but feeling much better today. Happy babies to all you May moms! I hope I'll be just a month behind

Technically, yes you could still be pregnant. The pregnancy test picks up on the hcg in your urine. My levels with my son started out low, dropped and then rose properly. If your levels were already borderline and dropped before rising then it is completely possible. I would wait a few days and retest but either way I'd call and tell your dr so he can confirm the CP and note it in your chart.

My suggestion to go to the dr was b/c I had many positive tests and then all of a sudden I had 2 negative ones. Then another day later I started bleeding. My concern was....was it a miscarriage, chemical pregnancy, or was it false positives.

Temp is at my regular AF temps and AF is going strong. Very bad cramps though. I'm definitely not pregnant. I was only a day late, too so if I hadn't tested earlier I wouldn't have even known.

I would still let your dr know so he can put it in your chart. They may want to check to make sure your hormone levels drop properly to make sure your body works properly. Also, after 3 losses a lot if drs will run a panel to see what the cause could be. I'm sorry for your loss.
