Morning sickness gone?

I am just into my ninth week and the morning sickness has been terrible. Yesterday it was a lot better and today it seems practically gone. Is this normal? I thought I was stuck with this for a few more weeks at least! Is it really gone or is going to come back and sucker punch me?

Re: Morning sickness gone?

  • Yep it is pretty normal! I've heard of a lot of people starting to feel better around week nine. I did at 9 weeks, too. :) I didn't have ms but I had excruciating fatigue. I'm still tired a lot but it's way better than it was.

  • FX it's gone for you! Around 10 weeks is when the placenta starts helping out and your hormones (which cause the ms) start to chillax a bit. So there's a good chance you could be in the clear.

My nausea, headaches, super fatigue, etc. started fading a few days before I was 10 weeks, and now aside from good aversions, I feel almost normal at 11 weeks.
  • Mine slowly faded away around 9 weeks. I've had a couple bad days since then but I'll take one bad day if I can get 3 or 4 good ones.

  • I'm at week eight and the last four days have been so much better. Mild nausea, and the ever present tiredness, but nowhere near the stomach problems I was having before. I get headaches now, which is new. But for me it comes and goes.

  • Mine was terrible 5-8, then during week 8 it magically went away and I felt GREAT, but of course it completely freaked me out. I even called my doctor.. they said don't worry about it.

Then, a couple days ago it came back :( It's not as bad as before, but in the morning and especially at night I feel like I have the worst hangover ever. So unfortunately, yes, it may come back! But hopefully not as bad.

  • I am 12 weeks now & my ms is still horrible. I tried to stop taking zofran because of its side effects (constipation!!!) but that was a no go. I still can't even function without zofran. I hope & pray it goes away soon!
  • with my DS I was REALLY sick from week 7 til 16, I had to take zofran to keep anything down!
this time I started sooner at 5 and I'm surviving with 1/2 a zofran a day. the last few days I've started to feel a little better and I thought it was just my imagination :) I'm glad I'm not alone! (I'm 9 weeks, 3 days)

  • Mine has been going away this past week as well.  So happy about that!  Now, if only I could get rid of the exhaustion - it's like having mono, you know?
  • Mine comes and goes. I thought it was over and nope, it came back but worse!

  • You are lucky, if it's gone. I feel like everytime I come into work and sit at my desk for hours, I start to feel nauseous.

Last week when I was on vacation walking through all kinds of museums, I felt fine.

Now, it's hard for me to even go grocery shopping.

  • In in week 8 and my ms is terrible. With my other children it stopped after 12 weeks. I'm hoping for sooner this time around
  • I was really sick at 6 weeks & had to go on a drip. Thought I was over it & it came back just as bad at week 9 & 11. Still don't feel great & really hope it subsides soon so I can stop feeling miserable . I know it will all be worth it in the end but still not easy to ever imagine feeling normal again :/
  • Mines is gone also and I just started my 9th week. It was all day for a while and woke up yesterday feeling better and today there's been almost no nausea.
  • Yay!!! Have fun enjoying food again.

  • I'm so jealous. Mine was moderate 24/7 m/s from week 6 - 8 and since then it's been off and on but severe when it's on, and the past 3 days it's just been constant severe nausea. I'm 10 weeks tomorrow - come ooooooooonnnn placenta! Help me out!
  • Last time it started to leave around 9 weeks.  I would still get some now and then until 16 or so weeks, but the all day every day stuff stopped.  I'm praying it's the same for me this time since 9 wks is in a few days and I feel so ugh.

Not yet....i'm almost in my 11th week and I still have it. They gave me meds to control it, and they have been working...so I decided to try and not take them anymore, big mistake b/c I almost threw up all over my bed. My DH was like, good save honey! As I ran to the toilet with throw up in my mouth. Soooo gross!

Can't wait til its over though...I have heard of some women who throw up the entire time...really hope that is not me.
This is literally exactly what I did Sunday.. And Monday morning DH was picking up a new zofran prescription first thing while I was at work!

I think it is. That's how it was for me any way. Mine was by far and away the worst just a few days before it basically disappeared. Good luck!
  • I'm at 11w 3d and I've been finding my ms is gradually getting better. I still have moments where I'm projectile vomiting out of my car but its less frequent. I keep thinking its over and then it hits me hard. It's getting there though! I keep my eye on the prize: only a couple weeks away from 2nd trimester. Of course, some women feel sick throughout their pregnancy. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

Well yeah, it`s about the time :D   After 8 weeks mine got much better too. It`s appearing and disappearing, but no more all day-all night nausea.

  • Mine faded at 9 weeks and now it's back with a vengeance! I'm quite miserable to be honest and I'm hanging out for relief. My advice, enjoy the good days! :-)
  • My midwife had said to me that ms can peak at 8 weeks. I would say for me it did peak at 8 and has gradually gotten better since then. Except yesterday for some reason. I also notice when I'm constipated the ms is worse. Which makes sense cause its stuck. :(( I have dreams of going to the bathroom.

Unfortunately everyone is different. But at least you can find some comfort in the fact that there is no real norm. I've begun to realise that I can't take what I read for verbatim. Pregnancy is just full of surprises. :).

This is me, exactly... Last night I felt as though I was going to pass out I felt so sick, lol. I went to bed at 8:30! LOL. I'm a wee bit ms-y during the day, but its NOTHING like it was even two weeks ago, thank God, lol.

  • I was really sick weeks 6 to 8. It improved a bit for a while. I am 11 weeks today and I just got sucker punched. I'm pretty miserable and hope I get some relief soon. In back to not keeping anything down and I hope I can pull myself out of this before I have to have another IV.

  • I have had really bad MS (often throwing up 15-20 times a day). I was so relieved when at around end of nine weeks it seemed to be improving. Then at exactly 10 weeks it got REALLY bad and now that I am 11 weeks it seems to be getting a lot better.
