Night crew check in

So I put LO in her crib after the last time she nursed. Well, she is still asleep and I'm headed to bed....I guess this will be her first night not sleeping in our room. I'm terrified and relieved at the same time. I'm sure she'll end up back in our room after the next feeding though.

QOTN: where will you take LO for their first vacation and how old will he/she be?

Re: Night crew check in

  • Congrats on getting LO in the crib!

Joel is coming to Chicago with us for a wedding the first weekend if November. He will be 9 weeks. Should be interesting. (We live in ga)

Today was a bad day. I am hoping we are lucky and also get a crib sleeper tonight.
    Married DH <3 : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat)
DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18

  • Good luck! I started the crib for her afternoon naps a few days ago. She actually does really well in it.

We are on our first nighttime feeding. DH has the bottle to do the second. Really hoping to get some rest tonight.

First vacation... Well for thanksgiving this year we are traveling to Texas so she can meet her great grandparents on my side of the family. She will be 3 months old.

  • DS2 is napping on my chest. I really should put him down to shower before our museum trip tomorrow, but I'm loving the snuggles.

DS2's first "vacation" will be in May to Minneapolis. Not super exciting, but we have to go see great gma and while we are there we go to the Minnesota zoo (which is actually kind of neat), mall of america and stay at a waterpark resort and we are also stopping at the Circus World museum in Baraboo, WI because DS1 (who will be almost 3) will get a kick out of that.

It's a 10 hour drive from Indy to Southern MN where gma lives. Should be interesting! Thankfully DS1 went at ages 6 weeks and 16 months and did well with the drive. Hoping he will be good again!
     DS1 8/2011. DS2 8/2013.

  • We went to my parent's lake house in Wisconsin over Labor Day. So she was 5 weeks old. It wasn't a crazy vacation but still a getaway.
She is sleeping now and I am hoping for another great night of sleep.
  • Good luck! i have yet to start lo in her crib because im still too nervous!

I'm pumping and SO is feeding LO a bottle then we will be off to bed even though its early in the west coast.

We are taking LO to Nevada to visit my grandma on our Christmas break. She will be 4 1/2 months old.
  • We just got home from my ILs. DS is awake and screaming. We'll bathe him and put him in his bassinet. I'm currently pumping. After an awesome day/night of EBF he decided to eat nonstop today and then decided to stop latching well. and after about 5pm I gave up and have him pumped bottles. Hopefully we'l l get back on track soon with the bfing.

  • Little grumpy pants is feeding for the umpteenth time today. He won't sleep for anything. If he's going like this all night I might as well make some coffee. But that might keep him up more. FML.

We are taking him to see his grandparents in ND in Jan. it will be super cold!! He won't be old enough to enjoy then snow yet
  • The crib tonight was an accident. I was nursing her in the nursery and out her in there to go to the bathroom. When I came back she was asleep.
Now I'm sitting in bed watching her in the monitor....ugh it's killing me.
  • We're on feeding number one which came only one hour after the prior feeding. Hope this means we get good sleep tonight!

First trip with LO will be back home to Califirnia. We actually have three trips planned in Oct/Nov so I hope it's easy!

  • I have been cleaning all day, and I actually feel amazing. Little tired and sore, though.

Doing feeding #1 right now. Hoping tonight goes well!

We dont have any overnight trips planned at the moment. Honestly, with three kids, the idea of a vacation or trip at the moment sounds exhausting. Lol

  • Just finished nursing DD so I'm about to put her down for the night. FX that she'll stay asleep! Lately she wakes up as soon as I lay her down.

Her first vacation will be in October to visit my family in Lousiana. It's a 5 & 1/2 hour car ride so we'll see how that goes.
  • I can't even think about putting LO in her crib yet. I would go crazy all night.

I'm waiting for LO to wake up for her last feeding tonight. It's usually around 10 or so, but it's looking like I may have to wake her up for it. Ugh. I hate having to wake her up, but her diaper change will wake her anyways.

LO's first vacation will be a day trip in November. At least, I think it'll be a day trip? It's for one of MH's friends baby showers, so I don't think we'll need to spend the night. It's only a 3 hour trip, tops.

  • We're taking dd to meet her great grandparents in ny next weekend. It'll be about a 6 hour round trip. She'll be 3 weeks. But her first vacation will be to Maine for a Memorial Day pig roast our friends put on annually. She'll be 9 months then.

  • Ds is down i just finished watching big bang theory and today has been a relativly good day.

Ds first vacation will probably be to southern oregon after i graduate to visit my family. At which time hell probably meet bio dads family if his bio dad still wants that. Then well probably head back up to northern oregon to see a good friend of mine

  • Just put LO down in her crib for night 2 hoping it goes well. She was to noisey to stay in our room!

Our first vacation will be to Florida to visit grammy. Still trying to decide if it will be October or November.
  • First vacation probably won't be until next summer. A Hawaii trip we were planning with my parents this summer but surprise I would be 7 months pregnant so we plan to next summer and LO will be just under 1 year. We may attempt a snow boarding trip over the winter but not sure yet.

LO is comfort sucking now after his feeding which worries me if he's actually eating still because we've been having huge spit ups when he over eats. Do you guys clock nursing time ones LO is asleep on the boob but still suckling?

LO is down and out! After last night I hope he sleeps! I need to rest since I only got 3 hrs last night, if that.

We'll be going to PA for thanksgiving to visit my parents LO will be 3 1/2 months. It's about a 5 hr trip. Then in March we have a wedding in FL, should be interesting, we either have to fly with him or sit in a car for 19 hrs...not sure what's worse. At that point he'll be 7 months
  • It's just after 8 here and I'm hoping DS will go down for the night any minute now.
He has been in his crib since week 3. I had been sleeping on the couch next to it up until a week ago when we picked up a cheap monitor. I had a mini meltdown last night because the damn thing works about 50% of the time, the rest only putting off a loud static sound. I may or may not have thrown it on the ground and did a barefoot tantrum-stomp on it. ;-)

I'm guessing our first vacation will be at our family's cabin up north in the mountains. DH and I are also talking about a child-free beach vacation next summer.

  • DH is currently giving LO her first bottle - and I'm weirdly emotional about it. She took it just fine and is eating like a champ....hopefully she still takes my breast for her next feeding!

AS far as vacations go, I'm not sure when we'll go on one with LO.  An overnight trip will probably be in a few months, but a long vacation probably not for a year or two.

  • We are on our first nighttime feeding. DH has the bottle to do the second. I can't believe it but Lo has been doing 3 hour feedings all day. His usual is every 2 hours during the day. Tonight we fed him at 7:45, put him down for bed just to see what would happen, and he just now woke up. DH and I did join the baby at 8:30 for bed lol. We have been exhausted! Glad we did because I feel like I got some sleep and its only 11:30!

We don't have any trips planned to take LO. We don't travel much.

  • LO is fed and cleaned and is chilling in her rock and play dozing. She'll probably be up here soon for a top off hopefully before a long stretch of sleep!
  • LO hasn't gone down yet. Hes been up since 5. It's 10 something here. He doesn't want to eat right now, I changed his diaper and his clothes but he's still fussy/crying with no signs of getting tired. Oh and he's 6 weeks today. I'm exhausted. MH finally came to try and calm him after watching me struggle for the last hour. Jerk.

Good luck to all those going into cribs tonight. Ds is 7 weeks and won't be moving into his room until 5 months or so. That's when we moved the girls.

We are going to Maui for two weeks in November. Can't wait! It has been cold and rainy here for over a month now. We have frost on everything in the morning and we are lucky to break 55 during the day

My tubal was scheduled for September 30th. I am super nervous

ETA: ds slept for 7 hours straight last night with another 3 hours after. Hopin tonight is similar

  • Mines already awake and eating another bottle mine woke up an hour earlier then is normal screaming. I have heart burn and i would like to thank the neighbor who seems to think blaring music at five to 11 makes him cool. I have appointments tomorrow and was really hoping to get some sleep before them. So if my son gets woken up again. I might do a mommy cry it out since im already exhausted

  • Really hoping for a good night tonight. Last night LO wanted to be held nonstop and was more grazing than feeding.

We will be staying 2 nights with my parents over thanksgiving. They live about 1.5 hours away so not sure it really counts.
  • Well, LO did not wake up for her 10 pm feeding. I waited til 1030, then went a head and pumped. Now at about 11, she's grunting around like she's going to wake up. Ugh! Please wait at least an hour, LO! I would hate to bust out a bottle because I couldn't wait a other 1/2 hour!

  • Just trying to rock LO to sleep.. I'm hoping for at least a good 4 hour stretch.. But I'm not holding my breath.

We don't have any trips planned yet. So probably nothing til next summer when we go camping with my family.
  • Feeding before putting DD to bed hopefully she sleeps better tonight than last night. We are thinking our first big trip will be to cancun or Hawaii next year in may. But we will see. We are planning a road trip to San Luis Obispo last week of November. That's about a 5 hour drive for us.
  • We are up for feeding number one. Poor guy got overtired tonight, so it took a while to get him down.

Not sure about our first vacation. I took my other two on a plane to visit my sister last year and I swore I wouldn't do that again any time soon. Traumatic experience for all involved. My ILs treated the whole fam to a trip to the Outer Banks last spring and I am hoping we do that again. LO would be about 8 months old. The 14 hour car ride would be interesting!
  • Up for feeding #1. Only got 4 hours out of her this time. She did sleep most of the day today for some reason so I guess that's better than I expected!

We are taking LO on a mini vacation at the end of this month to go visit my FIL. But for an actual vacation that requires a flight I am hoping to do Mexico next April or May. So she will be 8 or 9 months.

  • Feeding number two. What happened to my rock star sleeper. Ive had to keep my blp dryer going just to keep him from crying so i can sleep
    image
  • DS gave a 4 hour stretch. Hoping for another one of those! I'm now pumping. Hoping tomorrow I can nurse overnight. DS was too fussy this evening that we just couldn't make it work.

Just realized I didn't answer the question about first vacation. We'll probably head up to the Boston suburbs next spring to visit my grandfather and other relatives.

  • LO is sleeping next to me on the couch. I'm waiting for him to wakeup for his next feeding or for DH to get home so he can take over baby duty.
LO's first trip is going to be next month to Las Vegas. Not quite as crazy as it sounds. DH & I work at the Las Vegas renn faire every year. So we won't be on the Strip, we'll be camping at a park a few miles away. I can't wait to start making a little costume for him to wear. He's so tiny that it will just be a tiny little tunic.
  • C went down at 8, up at 2!! Yay for a 6 hour stretch!!! :)

    No idea about vacation yet.

  • Tonigh is going much better than last night. I got my 4 hour stretches back!

First vacation will most likely be this summer to the mountains in New Hampshire, or my sisters in North Carolina.
  • I think mines having another growth spurt... were on another feeding he wont sleep in pnp but he wont lay still and snuggle so hes going to his side of the bed after bottle
    image
  • #2 I'm grateful for the 3 hr stretches he's giving me tonight from the normal 2. He was so fussy earlier I was surprised he went back to sleep so easily after #1.

I woke up with a huge ol wet spot because the pad shifted, then he spit up on me a little so I HAD to change my shirt. Glad I just wear old T's all day now.

  • My son is refusing to sleep im exhausted to the point im having a cio for mommy. This whole thing gets easier right

  • DD slept 8:30-1 and then until 5 so not too shabby of a night I guess. I'm going to try to put her in the swing when I'm done feeding her though.

QOTN: sometime in June my family is going somewhere to celebrate my Grandmas's birthday but I'm not sure where yet. Crazy that DD will be 10 months then!
