I felt better after reading the hospital bag thread and realizing I'm not the only one who's doesn't have my bag packed and my act together. What else do you guys not have done?

I have a pretty killer not-done list, lest anyone feel bad about themselves. I have not

--picked a pediatrician

--pre registered or toured the hospital, or figured out directions to get there

--installed the car seat

--unpacked my shower gifts or written thank yous

--laundered baby clothes

Now I'm 37 weeks I should probably be getting serious. Where's this nesting thing I keep hearing about?

Ehh I was the same way with DS1, and really don't why I was motivated this time around......it will get done and real fast when the baby comes

I have written most but not finished or sent out Thank you notes. I also need to take tags off of LO's clothes and wash them. I need to finish cleaning our room to put LO's bassinet in there. And also I need to clean the nursery. And still have to finish that bag packing and install the car seat.

I haven't done any of that shit and I'm further along than you

The two biggest snags are shower thank yous and installing the carseat. But my seat has been ordered (we already have the base), I passed out right before my birth class's hospital tour, and I'll probably be doing most of this stuff tomorrow i.e. the shower TYs.

Even if LO comes early, his necessities are taken care of.

Here's my un-list. I haven't:
-washed baby clothes
-unpacked car seat
-pre-registered at hospital
-packed my hospital bag
-gotten any post birth supplies for myself

I'm sure there's more I just don't remember.

I haven't

1) Packed a hospital bag or even decided what's going in it.

2) Toured the hospital.

3) Taken any kind of childbirth classes.

4) Taken the car seat out of the box yet.

5) Laundered baby clothes.

6) Bought a crib mattress.

I'm 36 + 1 so I'd say some of these things are cutting it pretty close.

-installed newborn carseat
- finished/printed DSs "1 year" photo book (that i've been working on since last christmas)
-packed hospital bag
-cleaned our house/picked up our shambles of a master br
-packed DS's overnight bag
-too many other things to count

34w4d and I haven't-

1- packed or shopped for hospital bag

2- HAD my shower which leads to

--TY notes

--Returns

--completing registry

--putting everything away and washing newly gifted clothes

3- Don't have a carseat to install

4- I have a pedi but I need to pick another that cares for baby while in hospital for those 2 days

5- childcare and BF classes are scheduled for first week of Oct.

So much to do....

Still need a crib mattress

Haven't made an official decision about childcare!!

Hmm... maybe I need to get busy this week!!

I've got most of my shower gifts (er, maybe half?) put away, and I wrote out 7 thank you cards yesterday. Otherwise, I'm in the same boat.

Bleh! I feel you all! 34w3d -- luckily on the latter end of Oct so don't feel as stressed out yet.

I have not done:

-Find and meet w/ Pedi

-Hospital tour - probably won't either ...

-Opted out of childbirth classes last minute..partly because I didn't want to commit to every Sunday for 5 weeks.

-Install carseat

-Set up PnP

-Make Music playlist

-Pre-register

-Pack hospital bag

-Force hubby out the door to get his Pertussis shot.

-Thank you notes

-Get breast pump

I haven't picked a pediatrician, don't have a car seat yet, toured the hospital or done the paperwork for my breast pump. And prob many other things I can't think of right now!

I'm 37 weeks, 2 days and I haven't

-Packed hospital bag (we live 3 minutes from hospital...DH can get whatever I need from house if need be)
-Purchased post-labor items for myself
-Taken car seat out of box
-Put together LO's dresser to put clothes in (but they are washed)
-Finished my "to do" cleaning list for house

I've only packed the baby stuff for the hospital, I haven't gotten nursing bras or any pp or nursing stuff except pads, I have to switch out dressers to make more room for LO in my room, I have to clean and put up pnp, I have to buy a set of storage drawers for LO stuff then put his clothes in there, I have very few nb diapers left over from my niece and a big box of 2s from shower so I need diapers, I need to take my dog to the vet and probably more I'm forgetting.

Picked out a place to set up the bassinet

I'm a procrastinator 100%! I literally just finished doing everything, and I'm 36w4d. I'm really suprised it didn't take me longer to do! I think I was just too excited that I didn't think about how much I was dreading writing like 50+ thank you cards and what not.

I've been sick for 6 weeks and barely keeping up with work, so I'll see your list and raise it by a few other checks. I haven't:

--packed my hospital bag

--picked a pediatrician

--pre registered or toured the hospital, or figured out directions to get there

--installed the car seat

--unpacked my shower gifts or written thank you's (eh, I've started on thank you's from my first shower)

--laundered baby clothes

--finished painting baby's dresser/changer and rearranging our living room

--rearranged our little bedroom to make room for baby's pack n play

--washed the cushions on our glider we bought used

--prepped freezer meals

...probably one or two other things I'm forgetting

I'm 34 weeks; we put the packing list together today and hubby is helping paint the dresser, so hopefully we'll get our act together soon

This is my new favorite thread. Thank God I'm not the only one.

I haven't:
- bought a crib mattress

- put the crib together

- put up ANYTHING in his nursery. We have a deco idea and painted walls. That is it.

- installed the car seat

- packed my hospital bag

- gotten paperwork together for baby while hubby is gone (He is deploying - most likely before the birth)

- Bought a baby monitor or a breast pump.

35 weeks 2 days and getting less mobile by the moment. Yikes!

Like @petdocd, remodeling in 3rd tri was a BAD idea. I'm 37w5d - Our un-list:

-Choose a backsplash
-Have backsplash installed along with towel rack and little odds and ends throughout the kitchen
-Clean out pantry closet and put stuff in kitchen
-Buy food
-Clean out old fridge
-Take old fridge, coffee table, futon, weight machine, and random other crap out of the apartment
-Clean our room so we have room for the PNP for baby
-Organize DD1's clothes so she has something to wear now and so that we can switch where clothing is so we have room for baby's clothes
-Dust living room
-Paint living room
-Move toys from DD's room back to living room
-Put crib back to infant setting
-Get newborn clothes and swing and baby bathtub and other stuff from IL's house
-Clean and dust DD's room
-Pack hospital bag (and figure out what to take)
-Fill out mat leave paperwork by end of this week

I think that's it for now. AND I have SPD and have been having severe back pains and some contractions so I'm not as helpful as I'd like to be. I'm trying to figure out if there's someone who can help us this week otherwise I really don't know what we'll do.

- put together the swing and bouncer (well, DH did)
- picked a pedi since we already have one for DD

I have no crib or dresser. I have not packed bags or done TYs. I am 37 wks 2 days soni should probably pack the bags.

Nesting kicked in and I am cleaning the hell out of the house, washed all of Elijah's clothes, blankets, diapers, sheets and towels. Cradle us in the master bedroom and bassinet upstairs.

Need to practice putting the carseat in cars and install the base in MIL's car.

My mom is coming today with the other carload of our shower gifts! We are going to put everything away and get the nursery organized (finally!!) And then she is going to help me go from store to store with all my returns!!

Oh and she is bringing me salsa/blanco queso from my favorite mexican place where she lives, I am drooling just thinking about it lol.

Installed carseat
Written thank you notes
Packed hospital bag
Bought necessities that I didn't get at my shower (diapers, wipes, changing pad, etc)
Put together bouncer, swing and PnP
Wash crib mattress and sheets
Wash clothes...
Ugh I'm too tired to finish this list.

-set up nursery (all I have so far is a crib and boxes everywhere)

My list could go on... I only have a week left of work before I'm done. So my plan is to get things done once I'm out of work, and pray my baby isn't early like the others in my family.
