Pregnant after IF

I am a hot mess.

It's raining and I had to go to a pet store for food for our parrots- I stopped at a convenience store in way and of course, fell in the parking lot because of the rain. I didn't hit my belly but this caused me to freak out and call dr. They said not to worry but if it would make me feel better to come in so of course I am going. Called hubby who immediately freaked out and is on way home now to go to drs with me. Now I am a hysterical crying mess that my ankle hurts, I am a bad mommy already because I put my kids in danger, and I am making my DH come home from work when he doesn't have that much leave time. Crap.
Me (37) DH (39); PCOS changed to Unexplained, changed to DOR in 2012 (finally a correct diagnosis!);
Started TTC 2009 with RE after 6 months.
Clomid + Trigger x2;
IUI + Femara x1,
IUI + Follistim x2;
IVF #1 (MDL) February 2013- BFN.
IVF #2 (antagonist) May 2013, First BFP of my life.
Identical twin miracle BOYS (!!) headed our way- due date is technically 2/4/14 but c section is scheduled for 1/7!

Re: I am a hot mess.

  • Take a deep breath. It is very common for pregnant women to lose there balance and fall. Your not a bad mommy. I've seen women fall on there stomach and all was well with the baby/babies. I hope you feel better soon.

  • I'm so sorry all that is happening but you are no where near a bad mom. You just stop that right now! Accidents happen, no one can avoid them and I'm sure your sweet babies are just fine! Big hugs to you and I'm glad you're going to the doc so you don't have to worry.

  • You poor thing... I can imagine how scary that must be. But I'm sure everything will be okay. You protected those babies instinctively and probably hurt yourself to prevent anything from happening to them. You are not a bad mama! Going to the dr will give you peace of mind.

    If it helps, my good friend tripped over a rug in her classroom and fell on all fours at 9 months. She instinctively arched her back to protect her belly. I think because she was so far along, she bumped her bump even with arching. She was so worried, but her baby was fine and now is an active 5-year old. :)

  • Doh!  I just joined you for a fall after reading this thread!

    I was about to clean out the non-maternity clothing from my closet to store in space bags, but ended up slipping across the bags (wearing socks) and landed with a loud thud, wedged in between a laundry hamper and a dresser.  Ouch, there will be bruises all over my hip and side belly;  just glad I didn't land belly down.  And this is only an hour after emergency OB visit, thinking I had a UTI or some other infection.

    No, he already thinks I'm paranoid that things are wrong.  I feel fine, just bruised and startled.  I would think that there would be blood or fluid of some sort right away if LO was injured.
