Re: When did u pack L&D bag?

  • 37w 1d and I just packed mine last night.  Well most of it anyway, we are 10 mins from the hospital so anything I forgot DH can always go home and get.

  • At 22 weeks which was a good thing because a few months ago we went to L&D thinking we were going preterm. I love being organized early.
  • Packed it about 34/35 weeks.  I keep adding stuff and just realized I have no shoes in there...so if I go into labor at work (I'm a nurse) I'll be coming home in my work shoes - yuck!  I guess I should get on that!

  • I honestly didn't pack mine until the night before my induction. I was 41w6d at that point. I have 2 weeks left until my scheduled c/s so I'll probably pack the night before that as well.

  • I started putting things into the bag around 34 weeks or so but then actually packed it after my 36 week appointment when I was dilating.

  • I packed at 32 wks.  I'd be packing if I were you.  I also packed at 32 wks with DD#1 and glad I did b/c I delivered at 36 wks.

  • Since I am a STM- I decided to pack it now (36w) Just in case. I have almost everything in there.

The only things I need to add are
    • a pair of my sweatpants that are in the wash now
    • A baby book- that I still need to buy
    • And maybe a few other things?

  • I probably need to do that... I've been so organized with everything else. I don't know why I haven't done it yet.

  • I have sort of done that. I mean I have a few things in there like what to wear home but that's it.
  • I still need to do this.

  • I packed at 35 weeks because I have been in PTL but I never carry it with me, my make up and hair drier/ straighter (as if I will use it) isn't any where near my bag, this morning I put my charged camera in my purse cause that is the most important thing I have with me if I did go into labor, and I didn't even shave my legs (Since last week) as a Just in case LOL!  So I am packed but it seems like a PITA to carry that thing all over with me!

  • It's been packed for alittle over a week now and I'm 35w..... Whenever you want to pack it, who cares if its too early...... I say better safe than sorry
  • I'm 35 weeks today and my husband has been nagging me to pack for about a month. So far, I have a trial size bottle of shampoo and conditioner in there, so I can at least say/scream, "I'M WORKING ON IT!" without lying, every time he asks. I've made a list, which is sitting on top of the bag, which is sitting in the crib, so if the unexpected happens, he knows what to grab.

  • I packed mine when I went on bed rest around 26 weeks because of the possibility of being hospitalized. For a normal pregnancy, I would think you could wait until around 37/38 weeks.

  • I started packing at 34 weeks, finished up about 99% of it this weekend... my ticker change is Friday, so that would have put me 36w 2 days. I have a list attached to the "go bag" for last minute things I need to remember.... IPad/Charger, Iphone/charger, pillow (because I had a back injury last year and the thin hospital pillows will never work for me), ect.
  • I started months ago but still have a few items I need to put in there
  • I packed mine at 34 weeks after being sent to l&d for observation. Kinda scared me into doing it early. With dd i packed at 36 weeks

  • Meh. I've packed the baby's stuff, but we've only made a list of the stuff for mine and my husband's bag. The stuff we want to pack is stuff we use daily. I figure we'll pack it while I'm laboring at home. If all else fails, we live one minute from the hospital so my husband can always come home and get stuff.

  • I packed it at 35 weeks.  We've measured ahead the entire time, so I'm not sure about how accurate the due date is and because of DS's medical needs, I wanted to make sure I wasn't frantically packing his and forget something.

  • I'm 37 weeks 2 days and mine is not packed.  Not even close.  I guess I'm not too worried about it because I live two minutes from hospital so it is not at all inconvenient for DH or someone to run to my house to pick stuff up.  Packing the bag is on my list of things to do, but I procrastinate by nature so I may be frantically throwing stuff in a bag when labor begins.

  • I haven't started, but making mental lists and thinking about trying to pack a bag a week between now and then... (I need to pack 4, because I'll pack the diaper bag, a bag for dd to go to grandmas, and my husband and mine). We live over an hour from the hospital!

  • Last week at 36 weeks I started throwing some stuff in a bag. I'm 37 weeks now and it's still missing half it's pieces.

  • I posted a similar post a few weeks ago... After hearing everyone's responses, I've decided to pack mine this week since I'll be 37 weeks on Friday. I didn't want to pack mine too soon, but I also don't want to pack mine too late. I'm a FTM, but heard that FTMs have a longer labor, so even when I go into labor, I'll stay home for a bit until my contractions worsen.
  • I got the bulk of mine done at 35 weeks and still have it sitting out to add a few last minute things.

  • I'm starting to pack mine today. My husband has been nagging me for about a month but after having to bag to grab on Saturday when we went into l&d it made me realize that it's probably time to pack.

  • I frantically packed at 34+5 when my blood pressure spiked and the Dr told me he will deliver me if I start to get protein in my urine.  I thought I had a few more weeks, and hopefully still do...but it was definitely a motivator.  I also washed all of LO's things.

  • I am 36 weeks today, so far the only thing in there is the baby's clothes and some paperwork. The toiletry bag is pretty much ready to go, but not in the bag. I'll probably add things over the next week or two... Last to go in will be my clothes bc I will be wearing what I'm packing until I go into labor. I have been making sure to keep up with laundry just in case!

  • I haven't packed a thing.  I'll be 38 weeks on wednesday. Last time, my bag was packed at 34 weeks and I don't think I used a single thing in it except for my shampoo and conditioner.

I just ordered a nursing nightgown from amazon, does that count? thank goodness for prime or who knows if I'd even get it in time!

I also live very close to the hospital and will have my parents and DH who can go get me things I need.

  • Started packing mine over the weekend (I'm 34 weeks). I have most of my toiletries, a couple nursing tanks and my slippers so far.  I know there are 1 or 2 things that I still need to pick up (like an extra pair of yoga pants since I'm constantly wearing the one pair that I have) and I need to print out the list of items I wanted to include to make sure I haven't missed anything.

  • Working on it now. Just got the nursery done this weekend, would like to have my bag and DS's bag packed by the end of this week since we're going away this weekend and my motivation is quickly waning to zero...

  • We packed ours around 28 weeks. Then after L/D visit at 32 weeks, revised it! Specialist says I can go any time in the next 2 weeks, so hopefully we are ready this time!
