I went for a normal check up yesterday & my doc said she thinks im a few weeks farther along than we origionally thought, & said my numbers (?) were high and wants to do an u/s to check for twins? Somebody please explain this to me! Lol this is mine and mu hubbys first pregnancy and we didnt expect to hear that there could be two in there lol.

Re: Twins?! :0

  • High betas don't necessarily correlate with twins. Mine were average with my twins . Just FYI. Good luck either way :-)

  • Those things, coupled together, can mean twins....or it can mean you have a really healthy singleton.  The only way to know for sure is an u/s, which is probably why he has said he would like that to be the next step.  Knowing whether or not it is twins can be helpful in how your doctor might proceed - especially if they are identical - in which case they would need more monitoring early on.
