Really scared--Updated

I have been feeling a lot pressure for weeks now, and thought it was just sensitivity from tearing. I just went to the bathroom and felt like something was hanging low. I looked with a hand mirror and say my cervix VERY low. I just called and left a message for my OB, and I am shaking.

To make things worse, we are having a major flood where I live and most of the roads are closed off. I am really, really panicking.

Update: I just got back from my appointment, and everything is fine! It is just major swelling and a bacterial infection. I am so relieved!

Don't panic. Just wait for your doc and try to breathe and relax.

Take a breath and sit down for a bit until you get instructions. Of course you're going to freak out, but try to relax so you don't raise your blood pressure.
Easier said than done. Just trying to help with your nerves.

@Cogirl29, yes, I am in the Boulder area. This is the first time I have looked but it has felt like this for weeks...so that is my hope. I am also googling against my better judgment and it looks like it might be nothing. I am just lying here shaking...I am PGAL so everything scares me as it is.

They called back...not a doctor but a nurse. She said I can come in tomorrow. No need to go to the hospital or anything. That is a relief I guess. I think it is a uterine prolapse. I had a very difficult delivery with DS so it would make sense.

Scary to see your cervix, though. I am going to lie down the rest of the evening.

I think its a smart idea to lay down, maybe even with your legs up and your head down for as long as you can handle it....I also feel like if there are changes you are unsure of head to the ER and get checked out. There is no reason to sit and worry all night, esp if you feel any changes happening. Also on board with the pp's saying drink lots of water, stay hydrated!!

Did you have your anatomy scan yet? I know they checked my cervix at that so if they didn't say anything that would be a good sign. Good luck, hopefully it's just a scare.

@ababymaybe yes, I did have my A/S and they said everything was perfect. I also had my OB look at my perineal scar and she said things looked normal. I was feeling these things then, too, and attributed it to the scar tissue being sensitive. I think all of these things are a good sign. 9 am can't come fast enough, though.

@kwinkle are you certain it was your cervix? Have you had any kind of cervical length checks? The last time I had something hanging really low it was my bag of waters and I was in labor. I am not trying to scare you or anyone but I listened to the doctor who told me it was nothing and I should just lay down. My daughter was born 10 hours later, after the "hanging" continued.

Wow, sorry to hear this. How did you see your cervix? I mean it's pretty high up. Dis you have to open ur inner lips or was it actually exposed??

Regardless of what is hanging out, something isn't right. Please lay down, put your feet up and drink lots of water. GL at your appt tomorrow and keep us posted!
