I cannot for the life of me commit to a diaper bag... they are either too big, too small, too much money... arg... stupid thing to stress about. I want something that is functional, not too ugly, and less than $100. Suggestions?
I received this bag at my shower and I LOOOOOVE it!!! It's super roomy and "purse-like" without being gigantic. You can also carry it two ways - either with the long strap over one shoulder or like a messenger bag or with the two longer handles (which you can also sling over a shoulder). There's lots of pockets, which is awesome too. It also comes with stroller "attachments" which let you tether it to the bar of a stroller to save room under the stroller/have easier access to baby stuff.
Bonus: You can get an upgraded diaper changing pad (which I did) or a bottle cooler (which I'm hoping to get lol) and both match the bag!
It's not too big, not too small, the inside is completely laminated for easy cleaning, and it has several mesh pockets inside to hold things.
I'm a huge VB fan, but opted for this microfiber one as opposed to the normal paisley/colorful designs. Knowing VB, this thing will hold up forever, and I have every intention of using it after baby too!
Bah! I just got a cheap, ugly one from Walmart that seemed to have good compartments or whatever. I don't have the time or money at the moment to pick out something fancy. Maybe later on I will. But as long as it gets the job done and DH will carry it, that's good enough for me for now.
I also have the skip hop studio.. I ordered it off of amazon. I'm a FTM so I can't really give a good review, but it seems roomy without being to big and has lots of pockets! Lots of moms here have Timi and Leslie bags.
I really like my Fisher Price diaper bag. Not gorgeous, but I don't think it's totally horrible either. It is SUPER functional and after having a couple that were nicer looking but really annoying to use, I really only care about it being functional at this point. It's usually attached to the stroller anyway.
This is why I have 3 already. I have one big bulky JJ Cole one that I got as a gift. It is still cute, but very diaper bagish. I have one messenger style bag also from a friend who used the same as her diaper bag. Super, super cute but not as big and convenient as the JJ Cole. And, I just recently got myself a large purse at a department store for when I don't need as much. It is cute and more convenient than lugging around a huge bag, for short outings. I love them all, just for different reasons. So, we will see which one I use the most. Good luck... it is super hard to pick.

I have a VB diaper bag from number 1 too, but the regular paisely kind. It's dirty, but it can be thrown in the wash so I'm sure it will be fine for #2. that's what I like about VB bags - you can toss them in the washing machine!
I have a VB one I used with DS and I am so over it. The bag is still totally functional, I just don't like the super obvious diaper bag pattern/style. So I would just add that if you plan to have more than one LO, you won't necessarily want to use the same bag long term.
I had a hard time committing too. But then I found a Skip Hop diaper bag at TJ Maxx for $15 and I was sold! You'll find the perfect one.. I wouldn't stress about it too much.
I got an expensive one as a gift last time... I didn't like it but I wasent about to buy another one.. It completely fell apart so I got this one from Walmart this time.. And I have to say I already love it and for the price I don't care what happens to it
I got a tote from Pottery Barn Kids. It's not too big but still has plenty of room. I think it is cute. They have several other styles. They also have tons of cute Skip Hop bags at 59 bucks.
I have the skip hop studio and love it. LOVE IT. I also love the skip hop customer service people. I had a studio bag that had a snap pull out of the fabric and they replaced the whole bag, and didn't even want me to return the damaged one. So I actually have two. I love the compartments inside and outside and the fabric cleans very nicely. Everything seems to just fit perfectly for me. I've been using mine for almost 3 years and it is holding up very well!
I got a Skip Hop Duo Deluxe in black. I love it! It holds a lot but it's very compact. Also, it doesn't look like a purse so we don't need to purchase a second bag for my husband to carry. It's reasonably priced on Amazon ($39-$45 depending on the day), and comes in lots of colors. I love that it has clips to hang off our stroller, too.
Honestly, this is my third and last time I opted out of one. I carry a purse at all times any way, so I just carry a slightly larger one. It saves me a lot of time and effort and money...plus I know wherever I am I have all the babies essentials right there with me.
