This IRKS me!

When people feel the need to share their thoughts on how many kids "so and so" chooses to have, or how closely "so and so" chooses to space them, etc! It drives me bonkers. This comment has been made to me by multiple people.. telling me I need to wait x amount of years before I have more kids.. and, I've also listened to people complain about a friend of mine, too! It just drives me nutso. It's no one else's business how many kids a person has or how closely they space them.. I, personally, don't need your help raising my children.. I don't need your help AFFORDING my children.. therefore it should be none of your dang business how many kids I have or how I choose to space them!

Rant over. For now ;-)

While I think mindful family planning isn't a bad thing for people to consider when they aren't in a position to feed and clothe the number of children they choose to have, I also don't think it's my business to tell somebody, to their face, how to live. I am sorry you're getting crap about this! You and your DH seem to totally have it together and your little fellas are lucky to have such a great mom and dad!

I'm sorry people are being judgy. Decisions about having children are personal and not open for discussion from others.

I am so with you. As a one-and-done parent, you would not believe the craptastic comments I have gotten about children NEEDING siblings and things of the like.

I am an only, so I am able to battle that a bit, but even my MIL who knows I am an only makes the occasional comment.

People suck, is the only explanation I can come up with.

Honestly, I haven't had that many people say things to me (m mom has made comments, but I shut her up by saying its not her place..). I think my in laws know better than to comment to me.. But, what irks me is MH's cousin has young kids.. 3U3 and one on the way (this last one is a 2 year spacing).. Anyway, I've listened to my MIL and FIL and SIL all judge her for her decisions as well as heard from her how her mom is very disapproving.. It saddens me,.. She's a great Mom! Sure, she has her hands full., but she loves it.. She cares for her kids.. Her and her husband support them.. There's no "reason" why she shouldn't have 4 babies close together if that's what her and her husband want!! I just drives me mad to hear people say things like I can't believe she's pregnant or she must be crazy .. It just bugs me because I know that if/when (if we are so blessed) we have 3U3 they will think the same things about me, just without vocalizing to m face, and instead talking behind my back like they do with her.. It just makes my heart hurt for her! I don't nderstand why people feel the need to express their opinions when they really have no place!!

I am sorry. I get the question too. Now if I was living on welfare and government assistance I can see where people are coming from. But when we own 2 homes, pay for our children's stuff then we can get busy and have kids back to back. But what do I know!
