Has anyone experienced this ?

So these past few days I have noticed that I am having some discharge. (I am 25 weeks) well this morning as I was getting out of bed I I felt like dripping. Not running down my leg or anything. But enough that I felt my u underwear getting wet. Sorry if this is tmi. But I also feel kind of itchy. Has anyone experienced anything like this. I am getting worried.

  • I haven't actually but this is discussed often and a lot of girls on here have had this.

  • Well I called and the on call dr said to buy Monistat. The itching isn't bad yet.
So how does someone know Forsure it's not amniotic fluid? Sorry I'm just freaking out because I used "google". Big mistake.

Amniotic fluid smells sweet, so if it smells sweet then call your dr back, the itchy sounds like a yeast infection buy the monistat 7 day it works better.

  • Also amniotic fluid wont stop because your body is always making it. If the leaking subsides at all, it's not amniotic fluid.

  • Okay thank you. I did smell it and it didnt have much of a smell to it. So if it was amniotic fluid I would definitely be able to smell the difference ?
  • I can tell you for sure my amniotic fluid was one of the foulest smells I have ever smelt. I thought I peed myself but knew right away because it smelled stronger than pee and much worse.

Personally, I'm not sure. I was worried about my discharge bc it was clear, watery, constant. So I went in to have it tested to see if it was amniotic fluid. It wasn't. It was a horrendous exam though. They can't use lube when they insert the speculum. Felt like my vaginal walls were being torn apart. Ugh.
So that is why it hurt so bad when I had it done on friday I did not know they would not lube ugh!!!! That made me cry so much

  • Amniotic fluid should be clear and non odorous. If it smells bad its normally due to an infection or meconium. The dr can do other definitive test to tell if its truly AF.
