Who will you prefer?

We're pretty far from our families, and my mom is a 20 hour car ride (or several hours on a plane) from us, so unless she takes off work afound the due date and is already with us, she won't be there. She's actually really level headed even though she can make me nuts, so I wouldn't mind having her around. Plus she enjoys cleaning and ironing. I do know as far as the hospital goes that I don't want a mirror at the foot of the bed and if it can't be moved I'll pack a sheet to put over it in my bag.

Me, DH, and the midwife! That is it! I don't even want to tell people that I'm at the hospital; however, I'll have to b/c the hospital I will be at is where my mom is a lactation consultant on the L/D floor and EVERYONE will tell her. They did this with my cousin.

I also have to figure out how I can have my mom experience her first grandchild's birth as grandma and not as a nurse since I'll be on her floor.

When I had DS it was an emergency c-section but originally they were going to try to induce me. DH and my mom were in the labor and delivery room but only DH was aloud in the OR. If I had gone with a vaginal birth I would have been fine with my mom staying; I would have left it up to her.

At my hospital you are only aloud 2 people in the room with you.

I just want DH & my mom when it's time to push. In love my MIL but she's a little high strung and stresses me out. When I'm tired I can get very short & she's one of those people who gets her feelings hurt VERY easily...this is the same woman who thinks that the baby is going to love whoever holds it first more than anyone else. I'm pretty sure that (1) people don't remember the day they're born and (2) I will be the first person holding the baby.

My twin will definitely be within shouting distance. I couldn't imagine it otherwise.

ETA: I seriously doubt I could get away with otherwise.
Yay, another twin! I spend a shameful amount of time with her. I'm sure people think we are insane :P

Oh, yes. I actually admitted to her today that a tiny little selfish part of me is kinda sad she's no longer single because I liked monopolizing her time on a boring Saturday night. I am a bad person.

Well, H obvi. And maybe my mom. Sometimes I think of others I would want, but then if just gets to be too many people. I just want a calm and peaceful birth, and too many people would stress me out I think.

I plan to have DH and my mom and probably my grandma since she was never able to be in the room with my mom. My sister would be allowed in up to pushing time since she has given birth before. But that could all change come delivery time
