Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Sleep question

So, I know this will sound like a stupid question, but I'm going to chance it! :). DS just turned 8 months old. At 6 months, I did sleep training and it went great! Then, he started falling asleep during the last bottle of his bedtime routine (dinner, bath, lotion/jammies, bottle, bed). So, I've started putting him down asleep and he was sleeping great still, 10 hours a night. Now, a couple times a week, he's been waking in the middle of the night and he can't get himself back to sleep. I end up having to go give him his pacifier or pick him up altogether. My question is, should I try sleep training again? I've tried moving his routine up so he doesn't fall asleep during his bottle, but he either falls asleep anyway or throws a fit when I lay him down drowsy. He isn't a good napper, so that doesn't help. I don't want him to rely on a bottle to sleep. That's why wee sleep trained, so he wouldn't need night feeding a and could pacify himself.

  • Yeah, my LO has had consistent sleep patterns since he was about 6 weeks old, but every now and then he has a bad few days where his routine gets all jacked up. We usually chalk it up to wonder week/growth spurt/teething. We just try to adjust and he eventually gets back to his regular routine.
