  • So how far up is the cervix? When you have sex can a guy penetrate the cervix and get up into the uterus? I'm only asking b/c my Dr. was talking about IUI if if 6 more months we are unsuccessful in TTC. I always hear people talk about the "tukey baster" method, and wondered if people actually do that.

    Wow, @beckynsean11, @MauiBliss, @Jasperk23, @slappalicious, @NotElsie, @Spookster, @jcsumm0, and @Pintobean39 - Thank you all!  I really thought most people wouldn't read it, because, well, I'm long winded and that was a lot.

And, now, back to your regularly scheduled flaming.

  • @mmb248  Your dad was clearly an amazing person.  Sometimes it's easy to forget that such little things can make such a huge impact on kids' lives.
  • @mmb248 your Dad sounds amazing and very kind hearted!

    My FFFC:

Last September DH and I bought our first home. When the holidays rolled around, we were so excited to buy/decorate our first Christmas tree.

Well... it is still standing, and decorated.

DH didn't feel like taking it down so he moved it to a guest room. Then before his family came to visit last weekend he moved it to the basement.

There is no point in taking it apart now..

Sweet! My Mom and I did the same many years ago because ours was put up by my ex boyfriend who was like 6'5". It was an 8ft tall tree and we broke up shortly after the holidays. We left it up and since we're both short (under 5'3") and were too lazy to get a ladder.  :-/
  • NariaDreaming @TeeJ526

Yay! It's so nice to see I'm not alone :)
  • @NotElsie - the only reason we take our tree down is because there's no place to store it while it's still up.  My mom throws a sheet over hers and puts in the storage room (which used to be my bedroom).

Rookie Blue.  It's a cop show out of Canada that airs on ABC Thursday nights.  It has some of my favorite actors/actresses in it and I'm surprised it took until season 4 for me to get hooked on it.  Reviewers say it's akin to the 'cop version of Grey's'.

I assumed no one would know the show so I left it out.  It's amazing though.  And Gregory Smith is legit on my list.  I've loved him since 'Harriet the Spy'.

@beckynsean11 - That is totally my dog right now.  He's given up staring and now is curled up like a cat.  Every 10 minutes or so he grumbles loudly.

I've wanted to watch that show, but I have to start from the beginning somehow.
  • Mine - the phrase "Love you to the moon and back" shared from one adult to another makes me have crazy eye roll. That is a cute and adorable saying as a parent to a young child. It's from a freaking children's book for goodness sake. My mother put that shit on FB one time and I was half tempted to delete the damn post. Never in my life did she use that phrase until recently. I see husbands and wives say that shit on Facebook and I makes me crazy. (Don't get me going on couples to publicly write love notes on social media - major pet peeve)
  • @bbg676 - I DVR'd Rookie Blue last night and figured H & I would watch it tonight.  My mom just called all, "Did you watch it, OMG?!?!"  Now I'm excited and eager to watch it!  (I didn't actually read your whole post just in case there was a spoiler in there!)

  • @mauibliss where have you been all my life?
  • @GhostMonkey YES! I absolutely cannot stand PDA over FB. Keep it between you and your SO. If FB is the only way that you can express those feelings then maybe you should reexamine your relationship...IMO.
  • The mushiest fb guy I know was also a raging cheater - posting loveydovey kissing-in-bed selfies with his gf and sleeping with multiple girls on the side. I think fb PDAs are so weird. If you love your partner, tell them. If you need everyone else to know you guys love each other, it's time for a bit of self reflection on why you're so insecure about what people think about your relationship.
This is my assumption too.  I feel like people who post mushy stuff on FB constantly are just trying to prove something or convince themselves that they are happy.  Like "Hey everyone, look how happy I am and how much I love my SO.  No really...we love each other."

  • tealowl said:

I usually eye-roll mushy love sentiments on FB, but then I remember how starved I was for affection from my ex husband, who couldn't even sign 'Love Asshole' on my shitty birthday cards.

I came home last night and S/O had cleaned the house, done the dishes and was making dinner. This had to be made public.

So I wrote something endearing about it on Facebook and even put a "<3" in there.

He makes my cold dead heart beat.

THIS.  Exactly!!!!  I don't get too mushy on FB, but every once in a while I will post something on his page--not as my status--saying thank you for being so awesome.  My exes seriously were just the worst people ever, and I can remember just DYING for someone to say something nice to me when I was with them!!!

  • Dang I missed a lot...

I was a social statistics major and a criminology minor. It sucked being in classes with some of the future police officers because they openly talked about how there is no excuse for crime. And didn't that just give me warm fuzzies thinking about them holding guns and authority. I grew up in a shitty part of town, and yes, there are reasons for crime. Some kids parents told them that they shouldn't care what authority figures tell them, because they were liars. All kids want to believe that their parents would never lie to them. If your parent told you (when they were around) that crime was the only way to take care of yourself, then that's what you probably believed. And your actions followed.

I'll just say, we moved out of the Ohio version of a ghetto one day (so i'm sure it's worse elsewhere) but I still remember there were times when people stole from me and I was pissed, but I was empathetic enough even as a kid to see, that that other kid needed my lunch more than I did. I would let certain kids pick on me because I knew they had to, to not get beat up by their own friends. Truthfully, I was white so I was allowed to show fear. Others weren't. I was scared the whole fucking time, but I'm glad that's the life I had until my mom could do better for us. Glad I'm not ignorant enough to see that I'm now privileged. No one paid for my college, but someone encouraged me to go, that's fucking privileged.

I have 6 bras and I wash them every week because I thought I should. Now I'm wondering how many loads of delicate laundry I washed for no reason.

To the ladies who shared their stories of someone taking advantage, congrats on your courage to share. I'm so sorry these things happened to you, but I hope sharing found you some healing.

Absolutely this. I wanted to save this one via a quote response so I can remind myself of it when needed.

Thanks @mauibliss. You're one of my fav posters so I'm glad you agree. I had a single mom, so she couldn't give me a lot of the finer material things, but she taught me to work my ass off and make my own way. I am thankful for the support she could give me, even if it was emotional support and not monetary.

How do you have sex with a tampon still up in your vaj?

Sorry I am curious how that works.

There was 40 minutes of foreplay involved, so everything was naturally lubed up and softened in there. He just slid up beside it. It felt like DH was just bigger than usual. He said he didn't even notice.

Also, I typed goreplay instead of foreplay on accident. I laughed because it was totally appropriate, but ended up changing it back because it grossed me out.

  • How did that not shove it up even further?!?!  Did you not have to have  a search and rescue mission after that???

It was super slippery but easy enough to find. The string was still hanging out. If an entire bottle of wine hadn't been involved, I might have some more answers for you all!
