And I don't even have a real bump yet! I'm only 7 weeks 3 days and after seeing the ultrasound picture in my wallet, someone just touched my stomach and said oh it's gonna be a boy......
That is so inappropriate I will flip out if that happens to me. I would have put my hand on their belly and when they asked me what I was doing I would say, "I thought this was a new greeting, isn't that why you invaded my space?"

I had a friend of a friend touch my belly (I barely know her, but she's not a stranger) at 5w. That was weird enough. I would be creeped out if a random stranger touched me. Ew.
Anyone who touches me that is not family and has been given permission to touch me is going to have a serious problem. I'm not going to ignore it and pretend that it's okay. It's not.

It's creepy, pregnant women are not public property.

Everything I go to my mother's, she feels the need to touch my belly. I freaking hate it. Though, I'm not super affectionate and not a fan of being touched. Even my DH knows to ask before touching me, and that if I say no it isn't because I don't love him.
That is insane! I would freak if someone touched my belly now. Ummm you enjoying feeling all my built up poop from constipation bc that's all that's there right now. Ick
Unless theyre family i always imagine stabbing someone with a fork for doing that lol. Thats like my number one pet peeve how would they like it if i was like awww is that a twelve inch sub in your belly ::rub rub::
I can't wait for all the attention and people to touch my belly! But I do see why it would be annoying for some people. I have been guilty in the past but only with close friends so I feel like that is a little more ok.
Haha so I got touched at like 4 weeks! It was super weird and I knew the girl! She just reached out and I was like woah! She felt so bad, I thought it was kind of funny, but I'm just glad I know her and know she is a little strange! I have never touched a pregnant belly because I was always afraid to ask! Like I had heard it was annoying so I didn't want to be that one person haha
Oh I have had it!! I had two people I know this weekend say, "aw, you're getting a bump!" I was like thanks it's just bloat no baby yet. Thanks for making me just fill fat!
My mom touched my belly and was like "I want to touch the baby!"... I was like, you realize you're just touching my FUPA, right? She got grossed out at that comment...
My mother's hand is glued to my stomach the second I walk into the same room as her. It makes me nuts. She pets my stomach and talks to it. I just want to scream "buzz off!!!" I love my mom, but relax!!
I already had to shut my mother down on her being in the delivery room. She assumed she'd be there, but I know I won't be able to handle my situation, plus my husband's first time dad bumbling and then my mother in my face without completely hurting her feelings!
And I always asked my pregnant friends and family if I could touch before I even thought about putting my hands on them. And when I did I would just put my hand there for a second and say "hi baby" and leave them alone.
Sigh, I am not looking forward to this. My SIL already used baby talk to my stomache. Number 1 the baby can't here you and number 2 don't talk to my stomache it's weird.
So weird. I've have two other children besides the one on board and have never had these inappropriate & unsolicited stranger advances. Thank goodness. I'd feel all kinds of creeped out!
My MIL touched my belly last night but at least asked first. I don't mind family giving baby some love. I can only imagine how it's going to get at 8 months with twins.
Mom to 10 year old DS and 7 year old DD. Twin girls coming soon!
I can't believe this is starting already! It's creepy that it was a stranger, especially because we're not very far along so it's not really obvious. Most of my friends & family were good about this, but MIL drove me crazy always trying to touch my belly without asking & constantly talking in baby talk to my belly. I'm not looking forward to that again.
Maybe if you took her hand, and guided it down to where baby is actually sitting right now, she would never reach out and touch a pregnant woman's belly again.

I didn't have any strangers do it, but a few over enthusiastic friends/extended family members. I rubbed theirs right back. It's particularly effective when the offender has a few extra lbs of their own.
That's creepy. I've never understood the desire people have for touching pregnant women's bellies. I never thought to do that to even my own sisters. I don't want anyone touching my stomach except DH.

None yet, but I had a coworker pat my non pregnant food belly asking when I was gonna have a baby about 1 month after my wedding and 1 yr before we started trying....luckily she's a really sweet person and meant nothing by it but talk about feeling violated
Me! When we announced baby #2, my friend Lindsey immediately bent down and started to feel and talk to my belly... I was barely 6 weeks. But the worst was for baby #1 (who is now 3) my stupid SIL would grab my belly, from 7 weeks till my due date, shake my belly and poke it to "wake her up". It would drive me CRAZY!!! I tried telling her not to and she started crying and getting mad at me...
Yah, so here's the thing creepers: you aren't touching my belly. You're caressing my uterus. You want to caress my uterus? I didn't think so. I'm a fast swiveler. I see any one coming toward me I swivel as fast as possible to avoid it. ick.
I had a "girlfriend" of mine touch mine twice this last weekend. The 1st time I was like you realize that's just fat right? The 2nd time I flipped and explained how small the baby was and your just making me feel fat....seriously the nerve of some people!
Re: First inappropriate belly touching!!!

Yes, I'm pregnant.
It's a ______ (boy/girl)
The due date is ______ (date)
No you can't touch my belly.
I've heard it gets really annoying answering the same questions and deflecting tummy touching from strangers.
