  • 1) With summer coming to an unofficial close this week, you happy or sad to see it go?

Honestly, I don't have anything against summer but I'm glad to see it go for the most part.  I hate working in the heat.  Summer is our busiest season with all the holidays and whatnot, so I'm ready for it to settle down some until Thanksgiving.  I'm ready to have smaller crowds when I take the kids to the zoo or children's museum too.

    2) What were the highlights of your summer?

Probably our trip to the state fair.  It was the fair experience I had imagined and was a complete and total blast.  Had other fun days, but that one was probably the tops.

    3) Are you ready for some football?

Is the Pope Catholic????  I've been ready for football since about a week after the Super Bowl.

    4) I have to go to my 1st cousin-in-law's wedding in North Carolina at the end of the month... it was going to be a drive there Friday, drive home Monday deal, so at least we had a full day, and part of another, in Raliegh to explore and stuff.  Well, my wife has been needing her gall bladder out for some time and we were hoping to get it done the Tuesday we were back in town.  Well, they only do surgeries on Monday and Wednesday and they insist she take at least a week off work, so we have to do Monday.  Now, we drive 11 hours on Friday, get the morning to explore, do the wedding that evening and then drive 11 hours back on Sunday.  I'm starting to go with it just isn't worth the effort any longer, but I know I have to go.  I just really don't think spending almost as much time on the road as we will spend there is a worthwhile trip.

    5) Yesterday was a very exhausting day.  My youngest has had a flat spot on the back of his head since he was very little.  It has partially corrected itself, but not enough to where the doctor says we should let it go... so we had a series of doctor appointments yesterday.  First we go to the neurology section of our local children's hospital.  The nurse who does the assessments and the doctor both used the word "interesting" when looking at him which made my blood pressure and stress level both instantly shoot up.  They sent him off for x-rays to make sure he didn't prematurely fuse his skull (he hasn't) and determined he'll need a shaping helmet.  Drop my wife back at work, drop my oldest at my parents house and then spend 3 more hours at the helmet place.  He'll get his helmet next week and probably have to wear it for 3-6 months.  I'm just worried that people will look at him oddly since he'll have to wear it 23 hours a day.  There is nothing wrong with him other than his rear left side of his head isn't as round as the right.

  • 1. For us in Akron, we really only got a few of summer anyways so it was like we didn't really have one.

    2. High lights of summer: Zoo pass so for a few months we were going every weekend until they opened the new exhibit which caused the zoo to be packed.  My son also enjoys the water as much as MW and I so going to the beach with him will be awesome.

    3. I am getting a little more excited about football.  Was able to watch both OSU and Penn State last Saturday.  Going to the Wayne County Fair this Saturday.  Wish I could get the Steelers instead of having to watch the clowns when they play.

    4. I have my first sleep study tomorrow which should be interesting.  I have been having problems staying asleep.  With me being overweight and bi-polar it could be anything.

    5. MW has a surgery consult on the 10th for her gall bladder.  She doesn't want to try and conceive until after her surgery and she has some time to heal.

  • 1) With summer coming to an unofficial close this week, you happy or sad to see it go?

Gods Yes!  This summer has been wet, disgusting, and just plain suck.

    2) What were the highlights of your summer?

Well, we found out we were expecting!  That is pretty much it!

    3) Are you ready for some football?

    Nope...Don't do football.

    4) I am so excited about our first OB appointment >_<  One week from today...bah!

    5) Wifey is pretty much like clockwork during pregnancy too apparently.  Today is the last day of her 6th week and she texted me earlier saying she felt like her lower stomach was stretching.  So our sweet pea is turning into a blueberry and slowly turning my wife into a pumpkin lol

  • 1. This was the summer of doing nothing. No vacations, no camping, just preparing for LO. I'm happy it's almost done. The 95 degree days with no air conditioning were awful as were the dandelions in our yard.

    2. Highlights were playing a lot of disc golf with friends and almost finishing my drum room in the basement.

    3. I'm not a big football fan. But it will be interesting to see which Lions team shows up this year.

    4. Had my first experience with newborn-related sleep deprivation last night. That shit is no joke.

    5. This little guy is so friggin cute its ridiculous. When he is being fussy he makes a squeaking sound like the baby velociraptor from Jurassic Park.
