Hi everyone. I was just reading a post about smoothies for super picky eaters. My LO would eat fruit only if allowed and giving him anything else is hit or miss and a challange to say the least. Does anyone have any simple smoothie recipes that can be consumed out of a straw sippy cup that they wouldn't mind sharing with me. I am not much of a cook so don't have any fancy gadgets but can get a blender lol. Thanks in advance for your help!
Re: Smoothies out of a sippy cup
Whole milk (usually about 1 cup)
frozen fruit (I let him pick, we have an assortment of raspberries, pineapple, mango, blueberries, strawberries - and he can mix or match, but he gets about 1 handful per bag)
half a banana
a mommy sized handful of spinach.
(you'll definitely need a blender!)
ETA: hate, not had.

Thanks everyone! I am off to buy a blender lol.
we use pureed fruit or veggies (I bulk cook veggies in a 3 tier electric steamer and blend with a magic bullet or regular food processor and store in the freezer in 2 oz, 4 oz and 6 oz containers)...yoghurt and milk.
Apparently even the most disgusting of combos tastes yummy to a toddler as he sucks them down no problem, The only time I have seen him refuse a shake is when he is teething real bad and doesn't want ANYTHING at all.

We use a regular cup and a plastic straw. He loves it since smoothies are the only thing he gets to drink from a cup with a straw and not a sippy so he drinks up very well.
We have a pretty standard smoothie that is very easy and we love. Celery and a green (we choose from spinach, kale, or romaine lettuce) and then we add 3 fruits and water, or 2 fruits and half orange juice, half water (as much of each as you want). The fruits we choose from are oranges, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and bananas. It's super easy and very convenient as I just use what I have in my fridge.
We also make one with milk, bananas, strawberries and spinach. He loves both kinds.
We use raw baby spinach.
