My kid runs around in a diaper quite frequently at home. She also gets compliments everywhere we go about how adorable she is and how well dressed she is. She like being just diapered at home...actually she'd prefer the nude but I'm not cleaning up pee all day. I am assuming anyone who judges this doesn't actually have kids.
Anytime I see someone begging for money my heart hurts...I don't know their circumstances. Maybe they are no good beggars just out to rip kind hearted folk off but I don't think that's the majority. I've only ever seen one family begging for money in our town. They were in front of Walmart I went in and bought them food but by the time I came out they were gone I don't carry cash and wouldn't give cash but they had two kids...It would really REALLY suck not to be able to feed my family. I can't even imagine it actually.
I don't like parenting advice from anyone unless I ask for it...on cloth diapers, on breastfeeding, on discipline, etc.

Please elaborate on why you feel it is wrong for a family to keep guns in their house.
Unsafe and unnecessary.
Sure if you keep your fully loaded with the safety off pistol on the coffee table it's unsafe. But responsible gun owners don't do that. Yes, of course there are irresponsible gun owners and people who are unstable. But those are not the majority of gun owners. Unnecessary is clearly your opinion, but given this is an opinion related post, I'll leave that.

@Kismc I understand where you are coming from, as I am Canadian living in the US. I don't see it as wrong, but it definitely still feels strange to me, because I did not grow up with that kind of situation. It's a culture shock, I guess.
However, my experience is that as long as people are responsible gun owners, it can be safe. And in terms of unnecessary, well the problem is that there are 300 mill guns in the US, so you have to assume that everyone else has one. In Canada, absolutely unnecessary. But when I am walking around the streets where I live, I don't know who has a gun, and that makes me afraid. I can only assume others feel the same way.
I completely agree that the larger problem is the overall amount of people owning them. I know people can own them and keep them locked up and whatnot, but accidents happen...

I don't own a gun. I've never fired a gun. I have no desire to do either. However, having grown up in a rural community where hunting and gun ownership is the rule rather than the exception I very much (but respectfully) disagree with you on this issue.
People who are bent out of shape about the 50 Shades of Grey casting baffle me. Were you in the casting room? Do you have casting experience? People also got worked up over Heath Ledger as The Joker and Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss. Simmer down folks. Charlie and Dakota will do just fine.
@kismc and @fergy2186 - I'm not a big fan of guns but again.....I'm Canadian and it seems to be a huge difference between Canadians and Americans.
I shot a gun for the first time when me and some friends went to Vegas last year. I don't know the names of some of the small handguns but we also shot a rifle and an AK47. I absolutely loved it! It was so much fun and we all had a blast!
Having said that, I personally would never keep a gun in my house but I don't feel the need to. There's crime in every neighbourhood across the world but I feel really safe in my area of Vancouver.
I'm pretty sure that a very large portion of the guns kept in houses aren't there for safety but because the owners simply like to shoot. I honestly think that if every person who had a gun stored it safely (and I really mean safely), everybody would be a lot better off.
I'm just such a clutz and so forgetful that I would likely forget to lock the closet/storage box or whatever they're kept in. I mean....how many days have I gone to work and though "oh crap, did I turn off my hair straighteners?!".......Yeah!

Haha!! Agreed - who knew it could cause such a shitstorm?! I've never even read the book so don't give a flying you-know-what who they cast because I likely won't be watching the movie.

Someone on another board said he doesn't look as clean cut as they imagined Christian Grey. Um, ok, the man can't shave? I don't get it either. But I love SOA, so I have had a crush on him for years, if we have a boy, I want the name to be Jackson, like his character on the show...
My UO is that I have never seen Magic Mike, and I don't plan on it. I think Channing Tatum is good looking, but I went to a male strip club for my 21st birthday, and I did not have a good time, the guys just looked sweaty and tried too hard to be sexy, not my style

Exactly! Jennifer Lawrence is a natural blonde who dyes her hair brown to play Katniss. He's scruffy now because he's filming for SOA (which I am also a big fan of). When it comes time to film the movie I am certain he will clean up and look more like Christian.
I think people who can't properly do their jobs should be fired.

I'm a Canadian living in the U.S., and this is most definitely NOT an unpopular opinion in my household!
Sweet, another gun debate! (I'm actually excited, not being sarcastic). I'm an American citizen and I hate guns and would never keep one in my house and believe they are unnecessary. For every anecdote about how someone had a break-in and scared off a would-be intruder, there are a hundred more about someone accidentally shooting a family member or friend, or a child finding the gun. Again I will ask, why do we ban drop-down cribs after about 30 kids died over a 10 year span, but guns kill children every day and we do jack shit about it. It makes no sense to me.

I must say that I agree with the part about them being carried in purses etc. Why would a person feel the need to carry a gun in their handbag or diaper bag?! Do you live in SUCH an unsafe city that you are fearful 24/7 or do you just like the feel of having one?
Going off the annoying nicknames, I HATE when people use cutesy terms for genitals with their kids. Seriously, it's a penis, not a "wee wee". Teach your children the proper terms!
Also, not sure if this is more of a UO or FFFC, but I think keeping belly button rings in during pregnancy is super-trashy looking.

This is me exactly. I have family who are involved in the gun club, a lot of my friends are hunters. I have no interest in guns. DH wants one eventually and I'm fine with that but we'll have a good safe to put it in prior to getting the gun.
I get annoyed at the Team Pink/Blue. While I respect that some people may want to follow gender stereotypes for their babies, just because I'm having a girl doesn't mean I want to be surrounded by pink.

I live in a rural, relatively safe area so I don't feel the need to carry one on me at all times. If I lived in a bigger city with a higher crime rate, you bet your ass I would carry one in my purse. I would do anything to protect my kids and wouldn't hesitate to shoot someone who would harm us.

I took my belly button ring out yesterday. Well, I had somebody take it out for me. She asked if I wanted something else left in so that the hole wouldn't close up. Ummm....no thanks, if I really want it repierced (at the ripe old age of 35!) then I'll do that after LO arrives!

I wonder if anyone actually admits to being an irresponsible gun owner?
I feel like a glass if wine is totally acceptable during pregnancy, as are many other things "they" have told us we must totally avoid. To me, like most things its all about moderation.
I think that many North American healthcare professionals have created an extreme sense of fear in pregnant women because it is easier the blanket black list many things as opposed to actually do long term investigative research.

This is a bit extremist. People who legally own guns are not the ones shooting up schools. I see nothing wrong with gun ownership if you're a responsible gun owner. We have guns in the house and we've taught our daughter to respect them so it's a total non issue.

Probably not and that's when accidents happen. That doesn't mean people that are responsible should be judged or punished for having guns in their home. It didn't feel unnecessary to me two nights ago when I heard a loud bang outside my window, my husband wasn't home and my daughter was asleep in the next room. Didn't even have to pull the gun out, but knowing that it was up in my closet and I knew how to use it made me feel better about being able to protect my family.

Rum & Coke...mmm!! Laying on my stomach! Can't wait!
I have another one.....I went out for dinner with some girlfriends last night (aka bookclub where we forget to talk about the book and just chat!) and we saw a few kids out and about at like 9:30. I think kids should have a bedtime, especially on a school night! And no, your kids should not be running around outside, in their pajamas at 9:30 at night. Get them indoors and into bed!! Edit - when I say kids I mean 3, 4 and 5 year olds.

Yes!
Sometimes I wait until after dinner and the kids are in bed to get groceries and there are so many parents that have their kids out with them having dinner or shopping around 9-10 at night.
I think it's wrong for families to keep guns in their house. And I super judge moms who carry them around in their purses. (I only realized a week ago how unpopular this opinion is...maybe because I'm Canadian?lol)

Ha. This. I have a friend who thinks she's a "responsible" gun owner and I've sat on her sofa and pulled her gun out from the cushions because it was poking me. Her response was something along the lines of "oh, there it is." She didn't have kids then, but does now. Oh there it is? Really? It's not the TV remote.
If people want to have guns I think that's just what they're going to do. I grew up in the US in the south in a rural community. I've shot guns and that was fine, but I'll never have one. I don't personally enjoy killing animals and I can not imagine a single scenario where a properly secured gun would be useful to me. I can imagine quite a few, though, where I would be afraid of that gun being used against me. I'm more comfortable knowing self-defense, etc.

There are always kids out after 9pm when I go grocery shopping. BUT I'm totally guilty of it too. DD's bedtime has been so late this summer. She wouldn't sleep when there was light outside so I just stopped trying. She stayed up later and slept in later.
I can't stand when people are late and people who are running really late and don't tell you.
I was suppose to meet another rep this morning as we were going to work together in the field today. I got there 10 min early and texted her saying I'm going to find a bathroom. She then writes back at the time we are supposed to meet, "ill be there in 20 min running late." Like WTF! You couldn't call me and tell me you were running that late?! Its not like I'm meeting you for lunch on personal time, its WORK! Vent over ha
