Pregnant after a Loss

Talk Me Off the Ledge Please

Sorry if this post is a bit AW-ish...my mind is racing and I don't have anyone else to be neurotic with.

So I had an u/s last week and my RE said everything looked great.  Heartbeat was 127 and I was measuring at 6 weeks 2 days.  Perfect.  I had been having some light spotting a few days before and he said not to worry just stay on pelvic rest and take it easy if I continue spotting.  He said it's fine unless it's heavy or accompanied by severe cramps.  He released me and forwarded my info on to my MFM (whom I haven't seen in 2 years and was the dr. who referred me to my RE).  My MFM can't see me until the 18th and that's 2 more weeks from now and they're not planning to do another u/s for another 2 weeks after that.

In the meantime my spotting has returned over the weekend along with a mystery pain.  Spotting is still very light, sometimes red but most of the time just brown and barely making a "spot." But this mystery pain is something I can't figure out.  I don't know if it is Round Ligament Pain, something related to hip pain I've been having (I feel like my hip is slipping out of its socket), or if it's gas related.  It's in the same spot on my left side - baby is implanted to the left of midline according to the u/s tech. But it's not terribly painful more feels like someone has their finger stuck in my abdomen - although it can come in a sharp pain and then subside.  It's been around off and on since Saturday.  To top it off I haven't been as nauseous the last two days.

Now I  am in limbo between my MFM and my RE. I don't know if I should call my MFM nurse line but I haven't been a patient of his for 2 years or if I should call my RE's office - but then I'll feel like a looney because I've already talked to the RE about the spotting and he already told me it was normal.  I just don't think I can wait for another 2-4 weeks for another u/s. Someone talk me off the ledge because my rationale side is being drowned out by my PgAL brain.

Advice? What Would You Do?

Re: Talk Me Off the Ledge Please

  • If you have an appt set up with the MFM already, I'd just call the nurse line there. Especially since they know you, I'm sure they'll at least talk to you if not have you come in.

FWIW, I had lots of weird twinges and pangs early on. Fx that it's nothing and the doc is able to ease your mind a bit! ((Hugs))

  • ((Hugs)) I would also just call the MFM. I think they'd rather have you call than to stress about it.

  • Thanks ladies - I took your advice and called the MFM nurse and she was so super nice.  She assured me that what I was describing was nothing to worry about and that they will add an ultrasound in to my appointment on the 18th just for reassurance.  Glad I called. I hate my PgAL brain.  Seriously having anxiety attacks over here today.  Sorry for the AW.

  • Glad they said it is normal. 2 weeks seem's like forever when you add Pgal brain into the mix. (At least I think so)
